So I spent the money and went all in on the HMR diet. With booze and food flowing around the holidays, I知 wondering if I知 totally crazy to start dieting now? I知 just fed up with being overweight and feel like it痴 finally time to shed the extra pounds.
If it's a healthy diet, then the sooner you start the better. If it's a "starve yourself for 2 weeks then quit" diet, I wouldn't recommend it any time of year.
If you're completely committed then it's definitely not crazy. Going back a few years ago, I officially started healthy eating on Dec 4th. I went the whole holidays without eating anything bad, whilst the people around me were. With the right frame of mind and good support around you, it can definitely be done. Good luck.

I think it's a great idea to start a diet before the holidays. It will help you get through them with less damage. If you wait until after the holidays, you will probably add several pounds to what you already weigh. You will develop the attitude of "I'm going to enjoy all this now because my new diet starts Jan 1." DO IT NOW!
I personally think this is the best time to start a new plan. When you first start out this is the time that you are the most motivated to make a change and commit to a new plan. Having that dedication during the holidays can make it easier to pass on the food and alcohol that would take you off track. Having one month of the new plan under your belt with the new year hits will also give you the confidence to carry you through the new year and conquer your goals.
I been putting this off for a while but i am getting to big and feeling so unhealthy but i don't know what kind of diet to start. i was wondering if someone was famailiar with a vegan diet that helps them Please post Thank You So very much!!!!!!!!!!:
Considering how old this post is (and the fact the poster never returned), I am reminded of something I read recently: the best time to start was last year and the second best time is now.
No I wouldn't say its a bad idea but you should create a strategic plan of new eating habits following up the next few months so you'll already be in the habit of eating healthier by Thanksgiving.
Everyday is a great day to start. It's all about diet and exercise. I am 43 and I achieved everything just because of a proper diet. No carbs, no junk food, soda - it's that simple Good luck Timmy!
