9. One weightloss lie you've heard.
Açaí diet - that one always makes me laugh! Since it's from Brazil, we pretty much all know how caloric it is, so the only reason having this as your only meal would work is because it can probably cover the calories you need through the day anyway. Tons of sugar, though!

10. The best tip you've received with regard to long lasting slimness.
That it's about changing habits. It's not a temporary thing, it's not something you do partially or change little things here and there, it's a whole new mentality and changing habits requires effort and time and trial and error regarding what works for you.

Due to time constraints, I'm going to do these piecemeal, if that's o. k.

To get to know each other better. Let me see ....
1. What's your top weight, current weight and target

The most I ever weighed was after pregnancy, and that was about 230 (I'm 5' 2"). But my most recent high weight was around 140. My current weight is about 116.7.

Not sure of my target. I just want to look good in shorts, even when I'm sitting down, lol! I only know I won't go below a BMI of 18.5, as that is the medically safe cutoff, from what I've read.

At my heaviest (the end of my pregnancy), I was 198 lbs. Day to day life, I floated around 180. Currently 157, aiming for 140, but won't be too upset if it dips a little lower.

2. How tall are you?

5'5"

Married to a wonderful husband with one son (2 1/2). He will not be our last

10. The best tip you've received with regard to long lasting slimness.

If you really want to lose the weight and keep it off, don't call it a diet, make it a permanent lifestyle change.

5'0 exactly!

3. What's your family situation?
I'm recently out of college and back living at home with mom! Wooo!

4. Where do you live?
I live outside of Williamsburg, VA

5. One GOOD book.
I LOVE books. I'm a history teacher for goodness sake! It's hard to just pick one good one. However, the one book that I can always come back to is "All Quiet on the Western Front". Its deep, its dark, and I always come out looking at the world a little differently each time I read it.

6. One GOOD song.
Country Roads by John Denver! I love folk, bluegrass, and country!

7. One GOOD TV show.
Easy one! FRIENDS! No sitcom can ever top it.

8. One awesome food you don't want to live without.
CHEEEEEEEEEEEESE! I love all of the cheeses. I would live in a house of cheese if I could.

9. One weightloss lie you've heard.
I'm always so intrigued by the scam-my instant weight loss commercials that come on cable television. My favorite was a commercial for a "salt" that would help you lose weight.

10. The best tip you've received with regard to long lasting slimness.
Everyday your body gets a little stronger and a little slimmer with practice. I watch a lot of Cassey Ho's POP Pilates videos, and really enjoy her inspiration!

Single and living alone, but I'll be moving in with family by the end of the month.

4. Where do you live?
Japan. I'll be going back to the US very soon, though (see question #3).

5. One GOOD book.
"Mistborn" by Brandon Sanderson.

6. One GOOD song.
"Stepsisters' Lament" from Cinderella by Rodgers and Hammerstein.

7. One GOOD TV show.
"NCIS".

8. One awesome food you don't want to live without.
Brownies.

9. One weightloss lie you've heard.
My favorite was a weight loss commercial promising to pack all the nutritious goodness of Japan's food into a little pill for you to take to lose weight, touting how Japanese people are the longest-lived in the world. Yes, the Japanese have long lifespans and are pretty skinny on average, but trust me, that's lifestyle and portion control, not the food itself. They love their carbs (rice, noodles, etc.), their fried foods (karaage, gyoza, etc.), and their sweets (I receive cakes and cookies in the office on almost a daily basis).

10. The best tip you've received with regard to long lasting slimness.
There's nothing you can't have tomorrow, so you don't have to eat it all today. <-- Helped me a lot with remembering I don't have to satisfy all my cravings at once. I have a fair number of them for chocolatey things, as I'm now reaching the end of my weight loss journey and am looking forward to slowly incorporating them back in (on a far more moderate and healthy basis).
