Maintainers Weekly Chat: March 6 - March 12
We had extra time with the DGD yesterday so my DD and her DH could attend an event. We took her to see my DS and his two dogs. She was as happy as a 17 month old can get. The puppy's teeth were a little sharp when nibbling, and the two year old dog's tongue was a bit large, but all was constrained and sheer joy pierced the room. Temps were down in the teens (Fahrenheit) so going outside wasn't a good option.
The good news about tending my DGD is that I don't have time to nibble, so snacks were under control.

Bill Glad you are enjoying being a grandparent so much.
I'm still dogsitting and don't know yet if I'll be able to go home tomorrow night. I planned groceries up to tomorrow morning and am working every night this week so shopping for food is going to be a challenge. Usually March break was really busy for me but this year it looks like it'll be the week before it.
Will have to figure something out. Hoping my clients come back tomorrow and problem solved.

We had a threat of rain yesterday but only got severe winds and cold temperatures. And now we're expecting highs near 90 this week. The weather has been so odd this year, but it is nice we've gotten so much rain--more in two months than in the past five years combined.
We're slowly watching the Oscar nominated shows. It used to be that we'd see them all before the Oscars came out, but not this year (mainly due to the ongoing illness with my in-laws). We watched Manchester by the Sea last Sunday and Arrival yesterday. That was an odd one. I enjoyed it but I did't quite "get" how some things happened. I may need to discuss it with DS who has seen it twice already.

Just got the most lovely flower arrangement from the clients for whom I'm currently dogsitting. Card was signed from the pets. LOL

Dagmar, that's very nice. (Did you teach the pets to read and write?)

Folks like to read and write.
Far better to teach them to iron.
Hope this helps.

What I was wondering was which one of them has the credit card and online access? Probably the cat - he seems most suited to typing or texting.
I do read aloud to the whole gang most evenings. Maybe something rubbed off? LOL

Hi everyone,
I just joined today and looking forward to being part of this livey forum.
Sadly, maintainers are not well catered for on most websites, but the group here looks really good. Check out my introduction if you'd like to learn more about me. Unfortunately, the blog section here is closed.
Cheers,

Reason: because I accidentally put a space between the c and e in "nice".

Thanks for your warm welcomes everyone.
Just one query - is the 'one foot in front of the other' thread for maintenance concerns and the chat thread for socialising?

Pina, 'one foot in front of the other' is the thread for those of us who lost weight and then put it back on again. We're trying to get back to maintenance. 'One foot in front of the other' is its current name and when it gets to 500 posts we'll start a new thread with a different name.
This weekly thread is socialising and a bit of maintenance to keep everyone's eye on the ball. Sometimes there's a lot about pets on it as many of us have an interest in/live with/work with animals. Some of us don't so we sit that bit out.
