Unhappy Huge Thighs & Exercises to poof them away?

Hello!

Ive been losing weight! 40lbs in the past year, but it seems to all be from my belly!

My thighs are not just thunder thighs, they are monsoon tsunami thighs!

They are unlike any I have ever seen on the internet. Whenever I am in dressing rooms, I get disgusted. They aren't just big, they stick out FORWARD. It looks like 2 huge balloons are under my skin. It's extremely disproportionate.

Does anyone else have freakish thighs like that? Has anyone gotten rid of them successfully? What exercises did you do.

Thanks <3

Congrats as well on your weight loss! I don't know any way to spot reduce thighs so hopefully others will chime in who know more.

I do think as you continue to lose they will get smaller though.

Well I have those exact same thighs and I must say, I'm a little offended you're using such ugly words to describe them. Look back on your post and see how many negative things you are saying about a part of your body that works so hard to get you from place to place, lift things, carry things etc. Think of a paraplegic whose leg muscles are completely deteriorated and then tell yourself how much you hate your thighs.

Everyone knows you cannot spot reduce. Lose weight, exercise, and love your body for what it is! Join a fashion forum and learn how to dress for your body type (we are s pear shape!). You look amazing in an A-line skirt!! Ok skinny jeans don't work but bootcut is coming back in style! Love your shape and it will love you back. And don't talk about my thighs that way.

My sister and I are the same way.
Sorry to tell you, but aside from being overweight, it's genetics!
The best you can do is keep losing weight, and remember to do strength training.

On legs and butts you can spot reduce. Walk or, preferably, run. A lot.

I actually struggle to get big legs. Because running and walking eats the muscle as well as the fat.

Not a great look for a guy. But hey.

My health professor in college said that people tend to lose weight from head to toe. It starts in your face and works its way down. 40 lbs is a lot and quite an accomplishment! Unfortunately thigh fat (I have it mucho as well) can be stubborn. My friend lost a lot of weight by exercising and eating healthier and she focused on climbing stairs and power walking and running. She even got the "coveted" thigh gap. And her legs looked great (unfortunately she has since gained back a portion of it, but she still looks good!). You may also need to just mix it up a bit. If you can afford it, maybe sign up with a trainer for a few sessions.

congrats on the weight loss. Just keep doing what you're doing. You can't really 'poof' them away, but you can make them more tone and muscular by doing barbell squats.

Strength training can reshape your legs to a noticeable degree. I rec the dvd set Brazil Butt Lift by Beachbody. One workout in particular, if I'm remembering correctly it's called High & Tight, is amazing for shaping legs. At least, it was for me. I highly rec it and wish I had learned about it years sooner.

Congrats on your loss!

Leg Up
Lie down on the floor facing the ceiling.
Keep your palms on the side facing the floor and relax.
Lift both the legs at about a 30-degree angle from the ground.

I actually have the same problem as you. My mom suggested that I jog so that my thighs become smaller. So far, I am slowly seeing the changes so I plan to continue it more. Hope this works for you too!

If your workouts are making your legs bigger, this is most likely due to increasing muscle size. Most people can tell if their weight gain is due to muscle or fat, or both. If your legs feel really firm, then it's muscle. If your increased size is due to muscle only, you won't get smaller(indianworkouts)
