Hi! I'm here for the inspiration and to learn from the experiences that everyone has gone through. I started getting more serious about my health around 6 or 7 months ago. Though I've managed to lose some weight, lately I've been hungrier than usual and it's been harder to keep on track. I'm lacto-ovo vegetarian for years, but that didn't stop me from eating junk food, especially sweets. I've been walking and running and/or doing the 30 day shred tape every day for the last 2 months. Also eating a self-styled diabetic friendly diet. Some health issues have really improved, while other problems still remain. Anyway, happy to be here and hope to meet everyone!

Glad to have you here, midnight12!

It would probably be good to get a handle on the hunger and the tracking now. I was about 6 months into my first major weight loss attempt and I got hungrier and tracked less and totally fell off the wagon. Not so fun.

Thanks Penny105! I'm not sure how to get rid of hunger between meals. I tend to reach for nuts for snacks, but maybe I need to add fiber instead of protein? Maybe that hungry feeling is something that never goes away. Don't know... on the bright side, at least I'm not snacking on a box of doughnuts anymore!

Welcome and congrats on your journey so far! This is a great spot for motivation and finding people facing (and beating) similar obstacles but you're doing brilliantly so far

Some of the things that may help are a) when and what you eat for meals, b) when and what you eat for snacks.

A lot of people do better if they bulk up their foods by adding more non-starchy veggies and fruits. Basically, increase volume and nutrients while decreasing number of calories. This doesn't work for everyone, but it does seem to help pretty often.

Hope that helps some. There's a ton more information around here on things other people have done as well. Poke around and see what you can find.

Welcome again!

One of the things that's helped me snack wise are those bags of broccoli that you can microwave in the bag. I've been cooking one up after lunch and slowly nomming my way through it in the afternoon.

Thanks Squeaky, Penny and Sunflower!
I hadn't thought of the steamer bags to use as a snack. Thanks for the tip. I've used the brussels sprouts ones as part of a dinner, and they are just so convenient.
