Default Reached goal - healthy and feeling great!

Hi all! I just wanted to share my success with all of you who are on your own weight loss journeys. I want you to know that you can do it! If I can do it, anyone can.

I have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. I started gaining weight in college and despite ups and downs and trying every diet known to man (and woman), I spent the last 20+ years in the range of 190 - 240. I was at the top end of that range when I started my diet in early January 2015. I received an email from my doctor's office for an open house for a diet program that they were sponsoring called "Ideal Protein". I was of course skeptical, as I had stopped trying to diet in recent years due to the "yo-yo" syndrome. But after the open house, where they explained how the diet works, I was convinced that I had a fighting chance with this diet. Boy am I glad I did! 9 months later, I am down 95 pounds!! Not only that, my cholesterol, blood glucose, and blood pressure numbers are all down to excellent levels.

The thing that really motivated me to lose weight this time was the fact that by my mid-40s, my excess weight was causing me daily discomfort and pain in my joints. In addition, I was pre-diabetics with high cholesterol. These were not things that bothered me 10 or 20 years ago - they were a result of years of stress on my body and my system. In addition, I was beginning to wonder what my quality of life would be in 10 or 20 years from now, if I was already feeling "old" and tired all the time.

I can't tell you how much better I feel now! It's really been an amazing journey and I am so grateful for the Ideal Protein diet because it was really the thing that worked for me. It may not be for everyone, but I encourage everyone to find what works for you and stick to it. You CAN do it and you are worth it!!
