Default Chanh Muoi (salty lemonade)

Hubby and I ate at a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch today and with my meal (sliced beef rib), I tried the Salty Lemonade.

Hubby found the drink repulsive (both too salty and too sweet). I also found the level of salty sweetness disturbingly intense, but addictively so. It was like liquid candy, and even though I needed to follow every sip with a larg gulp of icewater, I couldn't leave it alone. Luckily the glass was filled with mostly ice, so there was only about 6 oz of lemonade in it.

I don't think I'll be ordering it again, any time soon - but I might try a little salt in my Crystal Light lemonade once in a while.

I tried it many years ago, I remember the waiter at the restaurant trying to discourage me from ordering saying that most (non-vietnamese) people don't like it. It was interesting
