Default I'm in NEED of some serious reverse psychology!

I've dropped 70 lbs and in the beginning my motivation was there and that for like 6 months. I kid you not, the day I got to my halfway point, my motivation started waning. The way I was motivated in the beginning was when I was pretty much made to feel like a piece of **** by my ex. Since losing my 70 lbs, I haven't gained anything but its been a month since my regimen has been up to par. I'm the type of person that needs to be told they can't do something, to give me the passion to do something. I don't care if that's wrong or right, I do want to see my weight loss through, and this will sound messed up, but I need someone to tell me all the reasons why you think I can't do it instead of actually supporting me XD I know that is counter intuitive but I'm telling you if someone could do that for me it would be a huge boost XD

It wont please you that I will congratulate you instead of putting you down :0)

What I will tell you is prove them wrong, show every single person that made you feel inadequate that they were wrong, they were anyway 70 pounds is not the number of the weak.

Haven't you seen all the statistics about people who give up at the halfway point? And even those who break through that midpoint and get to goal....sh*t, the odds are totally against you that you'll be able to keep the weight off. Yeah, you're totally gonna fail at this.

HTH!

Hey man, if you wanna get halfway to your goal then quit then go ahead! It takes a strong, amazing, kickass person to go all the way to the finish line. If that just ain't you then go back to your old ways and slowly regain all the weight you've lost.

I lost 50% of my motivation once I hit goal but have managed to keep up the exercise to maintain. I flat out refuse to get fat again.

70 is not the number of the weak...I like that! My new mantra will be 80 is not the number of the weak, then so on and so forth to get me through!

LittleMissWarhead I understand what you're saying completely.

I would simply like to point out that this negative motivation while powerful in the short run never lasts. This may in part explain why at the half point way your motivation has waned.

Also, it may be an indication that the plan you're following to lose fat is not sustainable long term.

Rather than trying to get yourself jacked up to restart your weight loss you may want to simply consider this an opportunity to re-evaluate your motivations and plan that isn't currently being followed.
