Default Interesting article about weight loss product ads

http://www.cracked.com/article_21211...-products.html

This is an article I just saw on Cracked.com which is primarily a comedy website but they very often has really interesting and informative articles that don't focus only on humour but also on the facts. This particular one was co-written by an actor in a weight loss infomercial and details the process they have to go through to achieve that perfect before and after picture for the ads.

More than anything, I found it sad. I know most of us are here on these forums because we've realized and accepted that there's no short cut to weight loss, but it's a downer to think about the millions who see these ads that give them hope that it's possible to get slim in 30 days and other hogwash like that (I can't believe I used the word hogwash, but it's the only one I can think of to describe it).

The really sad thing is the number of people who believe the "magic" of these products! If even 1% of the products worked, there would be no obesity!!

I know so many people who have bought all of these things. And they are still just as overweight as I am, but I just have a little more of my money left than they do. There should be some way to make these people accountable for the false claims they are making.

I always knew that weight loss ads were fake and misleading. Actually reading how these people were treated makes it even worse though. Disgusting.
