Hey everyone. I'm having a really hard time eating my salads because I hate the way the WF dressings taste. Has anyone found any good ways to help this? I'm thinking I'll try adding some different spices to see if that helps. I think they all just have a weird chemical or fake taste to them.

Good question I have a bunch of WF stuff and I can't eat it. I ordered from vitacost and it is a minimum of 2 purchase. So I have 8 bottles, 4 flavors and can't stand any of it.
I'm NOT a fan of Walden Farms. I hate it all and I really need to box it up and ship it back to them so they can refund my money.
For salads, I've been using my allowed oil and lots of fresh lemon or lime wedges. It adds such a brightness to the salad and I don't feel that I need anything else! Sometimes I'll also use pico de gallo or fresh salsa on top as well.
I quit buying bottled salad dressings a couple of years ago, but got a free bottle of WF when I started IP. It was nasty!
Here's what I've been having this week:
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1.5-2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/8 tsp ideal salt
a few good cracks of black pepper
small pinch of Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb seasoning
Mix it all together in a little bowl let it sit at a few minutes, then dump over salad.
I like my dressings quite acidic, so I'm heavy on the vinegar, but you can reduce the amount.

I struggled with what to put on my salads too. I really didn't like any of the WF dressings. The only one I could tolerate was the Thousand Island when making Big Mac in a Bowl. Finally, my SIL found a recipe for Italian dressing and I have been using it ever since. I mix up some field greens with Romaine, diced green peppers, mushrooms and a few chopped tomatoes (depending on whether I have had my limited veggie allowance for the week) and top with this dressing. It is sooooo good! I also just have it on lettuce or field greens.
Homemade Italian Dressing
1 T garlic salt (I use garlic powder)
1 T onion powder
1 T white sugar (I used a few drops of liquid Stevia)
2 T dried oregano
1 t ground black pepper
1/4 t dried thyme
1 t dried basil
1 T dried parsley
1/4 t celery salt
2 T Sea Salt
In a small bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Store in a tightly sealed container.
To prepare dressing, whisk together 1/4 c. cider vinegar, 2/3 c. grapeseed oil, 2 T water and 2 T of the dry mix. I keep this in a container in my fridge and shake up when ready to use.
You could also try not pouring the WF on the salad. To reduce calories on WW I always had my dressing on the side. I dip the end of my fork in and then spear the lettuce. You get a lot less that way but still get a taste of the dressing. Might be a small enough amount to prevent it from overpowering and keep you from having to throw it all away.
here is my favorite new homemade dressing.

3 parts apple cider vinegar
3 parts soy sauce
squeeze of spicy brown mustard

I am totally trying this! It sounds so good. I bet it would be good with cabbage.
I took the WF mayo (disgusting stuff) added some chili powder or curry powder or italian spices and then some stevia and apple cider vinegar and lemon to make a salad dressing.
Why they say this stuff is good I will never know.
I've been making my own with the EVOO, apple cider vinegar, and spices. But my favourite one is EVOO, a squeeze of French's yellow mustard, a teaspoon of vinegar, and a packet of splenda. It tastes just like the honey mustard dressing at Subway that I love so much.

I always doctor the plain mayo but I've grown to like the WF chipotle mayo
