Lightbulb Alternatives Question...

I've been doing IP for about 4 months now, and still feel a little confused. I dont have the money to buy their products, so I've been ordering from Nashua Nutrition. If I eat something (for example, ProtiDiet oatmeal) that is normally restricted on IP but is not from Nashua, do I still count it as restricted? That particular brand of oatmeal is not restricted, so Im not sure if I should count it as restricted...

Do you have the statistics that show you what to select based on calories, percent of cals from fat, carbs, protein? If you have that, it shows you where the cutoff is for restricteds based on those numbers. IP oatmeal is higher carb so is restricted. Proti has less carbs so is unrestricted (yay!).

Scottysgirl- I found a "cheat sheet" of sorts on a post from an IP alternatives blogger. It lists the following for selecting alternative IP items:

1. Minimum 12 grams protein.
2. Calories 70-160.
3. Restricted items have 9+ net carbs.
4. 30% or less calories from fat.
5. No aspartame.

Using these guidelines when ordering has been very helpful for me. I have been successful too. I follow along with all the same guidelines as my hubby who attends our local clinic, I just order my products from Nashua.

Exactly what I was referring to but didn't have handy on my iPad!

Use these guidelines when ordering. Note that some Nashua products have Aspartame but sometimes also offer an aspartame-free version! You have to check carefully.

By the way... Nashua has FREE SHIPPING over $49 TODAY ONLY!!!
