Default Wednesday SBD Chat, 1/29

I think snow likes it here. We got more overnight.

It's just another routine Wednesday, with ortho appointments and riding lessons after school. About the only excitement is that this wintry January is almost over!

Who wants coffee?

I want coffee, Linda! I'm sitting here in my jammies cruising the net and my mug us nearly empty. Jazz has gone back to bed - he goes out, has breakfast and then disappears upstairs. I've given up making my bed until later because he thoroughly messes it up.

This morning is a food porn morning as I have to make those butterscotch squares for a meeting tonight. Never become famous for a particular thing because it gets really boring making it over and over. No, my butterscotch bars cannot be adapted for SBD.

Better get cracking because Donna comes to clean and baking and cleaning cannot go on at the same time in this house.

Happy Hump Day.

Good morning chicks. I'm half way thru my first cup as well. I will admit mine is half caff so I'm not a complete freak later

Beth, you made me laugh yesterday...I was a bit stunned too with the "no school if it's zero or below". Really? I think I'd still be in school if that happened when I was younger! . I wonder if it's because of parents that dont acknowledge gloves exist. It *could* be because I'm in a snooty little town as well, and some parents are crazy!

I have a shorter day today, but always lots to do. I have a class tonight I'm really enjoying with a funny group of ladies. Apparently the natural gas guy is coming to move our heater and change over our furnace. YAY!

Yes, Linda. I remember that batch and the disaster when I tried to cut them. Served me right for using the "healthy" large flake oats. I used the remains on an apple crisp. They are in the oven right now and the house smells wonderful.

Darn... lost my post.

Okay - not sure where yesterday went, other than book club last night. Talk about food porn! But my current gluten-free status meant I could only eat about half the "bad" stuff

Today we are supposed to be back to normal temps, around 40, so DH and I plan to hike.

Cyndi - Thanks for the recipe; I've never bought miso before.

Southern Judy - Welcome.

Okay... I'd better hit enter before I lose this again!

Good morning I am feeling so much better after yesterday's lazy day. Now to get through one long work day and then a long weekend We are heading to NY tomorrow morning for a family visit. We are packing our snow shoes this time, might as well make the best of it.

This afternoon I'm doing a First Book event at a small center, definitely the most fun part of my job. It's pretty great to give books to kids who might not have many. I love watching the kids who carefully check out each book before deciding

Cottage - I think you've had more snow than us. It's been more cold here. Hope we have an early spring. I'm reading seed catalogs. think that will help?

Ruth - Happy baking

Twynn - funny how shorter work days translate to busier days

Karen - miso lasts forever so don't be afraid to buy a small container. Those fake tater tots also use a tablespoon so I needed it for both recipes. Now that I have some I'm going to make miso soup soon.

I suppose I should start thinking about work. Happy Hump Day

Good morning,

Dragging a bit this morning didn't want to get out of bed when the alarm went off but did and got my workout it as well before work.

Last night I baked some oatmeal "cupcakes" from a recipe someone posted on FB, all the ingredients were onplan and I had so I figured I would make some for to go breakfast. They are actually pretty good, could of used a few more nuts to brighten up the flavor they turned out a little bland, but that means my family will probably not eat them. lol I will freeze some when I get home.

Tonight DD2 has a volleyball game

Cottage and Ruth enjoy your day

Tywnn is your class a bible study?

Karen enjoy your hike today.

Have a great day everyone

Good morning another two hour delay for a dusting of snow. I guess I will start shoveling soon, but after coffee. DS and I were up very late talking last night. I learned way too much about what kids are into these days. Scary stuff.

Enjoyed lunch with my surer and trip to Fairway Market. Splurged on filet mignon. The produce section was amazing. Prices on some items were great ($2 less per pound on Boar's Head cold cuts) others not so much. Fun place to shop as a treat.

Today is meal planning for the week, cooking and cleaning. Floors take a beating this time of year. Tomorrow it is back to work for 4 days. Monday is DS's 18th birthday. Taking him and his GF to dinner. Hope his presents arrive soon.

Have a great day

Good Morning!

I've been up but am juggling many things. When the siblings come there tends to be alot to "manage". I'm trying to get some paperwork done before the starbuckscall comes. I've got my smoothie upstairs so will pass if they decide they're having waffles for breakfast. They want to go for mexican food later so I think I'll get my best energy by having a smoothie, instead.

Have a great day everyone!

Want coffee?? How about need coffee so I can be human. I just downed cup #2 and I think that's about it...trying to limit myself.

Anyway we have our group tonite. I am wanting something sweet so, I may make protein cheesecakes/cupcakes for everyone. Those to me are plenty sweet. Other than that, I just need to get my tax stuff in order.

Ok a big Hi to everyone & Happy Hump Day.

Good morning...err, afternoon...ladies. Still trying to arrange my sleep pattern for the mid shift, but by the time I finally get it done I'll be going to the Academy from 8 - 5, LOL Have I mentioned yet how glad I am to be back where I belong??? The pace is a lot slower than I'm used to and the computer is A LOT different, but I'm enjoying it.

I love the late shift...but I need to work on light and noise elimination in my room. OF COURSE the neighbor started construction on his back porch today. Bah! So yeah, I went to bed at 3 this morning and woke up at 9. Not too bad...at least it was 6 hours. I'll be tired tonight, though. Sure beats being in Georgia where the entire state is at a stand still due to the snow. Only 2 inches, but the South isn't prepared at all.

Sorry to be so one sided and all about me...no time for personals this morning (even though I typed a million words already, LOL). Bye, ladies...have a good day!

Jekel - 2 bucks a pound for Boars head?!

Pearlrose - yes, a bible study I just joined on James. Really good with a great group of ladies. Even extended into my diet life - you need to own your own problems, and stop blaming everyone else but yourself. No one put that junk in my mouth, right?

Natasha - so happy for you!

Hello to everyone else! Just had a horrible morning at work (you know it when your boss asks you if you're having "xanax, wine, or valium tonight?"). LOL. WINE!!
