Well, I weighed in this morning at 134.5, which is just below my goal on here. My secret goal was actually 130, but I also got my body fat percentage measured with calipers today, and it came out at 18.1. I had decided to aim for 22-24%, so I'm going to listen to the people around me and decide I have lost enough weight for now. I can always lose five more pounds in a few months if I decide to do that. So......GOAL!!!! From size 14 jeans to size 4 or 6 jeans! I can run three miles in under 30 minutes! I can do all kinds of things! It's time to celebrate!
I like the idea of stabilising your weight for a while. Going down really low too fast will cause a rebound. What happens is that your body starts to rebel and sets off the hungry hormones. You can develop a ravenous appetite which you can't ignore and pretty soon you are back where you started from. So stabilise your weight here for a while. And when you start reducing again, do it slowly. And if possible small stages at a time, stabilising each new low weight for a period of time before going down further. I think you have to retrain how your body thinks of itself for the want of better words.
I have noticed this sort of scenario in myself but i have also read about it in an extended article which collected scientific research on weightloss and why people failed and why those who did succeeded. I wish i could find the article for you.
