Default Chocolate Drink/Spinach Combo

Hi all!

I know people often put spinach and ice into their chocolate drink to get veggies in. I've searched google and also this thread but I can't seem to find one recipe with measurements of the amount of ice, water and spinach.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me their recipe (especially the proportions of spinach, water and ice) so that everything tastes good still. Thanks so much everyone!

I started adding a quarter cup and increased the amount slowly. Now i add 2 cups. It was an acquired taste. Now i don't mind it and actually enjoy my green smoothie.

I use a chocolate pudding mix mixed with 8-10 oz cold coffee
1-2 c raw spinach (depending on the plans for the rest of the day)
8 coffee ice cubes
This is what works in my Vitamix. YMMV

I use 2 cups spinach + the coffee + coffee ice cubes + stevia+ cayenne + tumeric + ginger powder + the vanilla or the chocolate rtd.

I like some 'punch'!

When I left phase 1, I changed the rtd and now use SISU whey protein powder instead.

Can the spinach work in other drink packets?

I mix 2 c of spinach and the strawberry banana rtd. You don't even taste the spinach. I use an oster immersion blender.

And the mango RTD with 4 or 5 ice cubes and 2 cups spinach is good. I usually add about a 1/2 cup of water to help the blender do its thing.

Point well taken. I use it if I'm out of spinach or need something with a little more texture/fiber.

If you are getting tired of the RTD/Spinach - I have even used a package of the IP orange pineapple(water or green tea) in blender with celery. I will add lemon/lime ice cubes (I have lemon and lime trees at my house and when they are ripe I pick them juice them, then freeze in ice cube trays) and a piece of fresh ginger root. Blend it up with my Nutra bullet. It's got a bit of texture from the celery, it's kind of strange at first, but it's grown on me and it filling.

Hope you don't mind my ideas - it's been a long time since I was in phase 1!

I usually blend 2 cups of spinach, water, and a mango ready made in my Nutribullet in the mornings. I love the simplicity of this recipe and it tastes delicious.

I'm going to try the straw/banana readymade, 2 cups spinach, and 1 cup cucumber later and will post the outcome.
