Red face Life Happens, then You Get Back on Track

Howdy fellow Chicks!

I truly tried to eat away the stress of taking my nursing boards & finding a job and in the process regained about 60 pounds. I stopped exercising and tracking my food plus I didn't step on a scale for three months. I stopped dropping by here and let the bad habits return.

The good news is that I did pass my boards & I now have a wonderful job as a nurse working with intellectually disabled adults! Even better is that today is the day I start taking my life back. I stepped on the scale, even though TOM arrived yesterday (Merry Christmas to me ) and I am bloated. I have updated some of my numbers, but I am leaving my ticker as it is to motivate me. I did it once, I can do it again.

I am thanking all of you in advance for your support & encouragement. I know that not coming here on a regular basis contributed to the regain. I will be going out for a walk in a little bit; but first I need to peruse the threads for some much needed doses of support.

Love y'all!!

Hey Peggy!

Congrats on the job and for coming back in. We are sort of in teh same boat. I hit an emotional bump in the road and let it take control of my life. regained about 30 pounds (that were some of the hardest to lose before!) and found myself not coming here or tracking etc.

So, we are both back for support.. and to motivate ourselves by moving forward! We can do this!

Current Weight: 185 (pisses me off,,,but it happens right?)

Congratulations sluggerbean on becoming a nurse! Lots of work went into that and I'm sure you'll apply the same courage and determination to get back on the healthy track.

I, for one, am thrilled to have you back! =)

When I was finishing law school, I just could not seem to get myself to stay focused on weight loss. (Ironically, studying for the bar catapulted me to weight loss success. Who woulda guessed?)

The negative voice in my head kept saying, "Look how much time you have wasted." The kinder voice in my head said, "Dude? Wasted? Really? I have accomplished something challenging, and positioned myself so that I don't have to work law school hours and can use some of that time to focus on me. Back the h*** off."

So - congratulations on your amazing, amazing accomplishments. Graduation and starting a new job. Woot! I am thrilled for you. And can't wait to start watching you again as you continue on your successful weight loss journey. (You are nowhere near your starting weight. Still a HUGE success even with the backslide.)

Hi! How's it going? Glad to have you back in the game here. I'll admit to being envious of your progress in the last year, as I watched your posts. You're where I want to be! Your admitting to a slip up is actually comforting -- you're human, just like me!

I hope your new year is going well and you're back into the swing of things - looking forward to having you back with us. Congrats on all the accomplishments and the new job!

It's amazing how quickly we can put weight on isn't it?

But you can get it off again, Kat! I have faith in both of us!!

Thank you Peggy! I needed a cheerleader this week! I was so freaked out when I was within 2 pounds of 200 again! I feel like I wasted almost a year of starving and denying myself. I weighed in at 200 last January and fought to lose another 35 pounds by September - then it all went down hill.

At least this time I figured out yet another trigger for the emotional binge eating. *sigh*

I am doing the Atkins program this time. What are you doing?

Welcome back and congrats on the great job!! Just like you, I did a lot of hard work...then life hit and I gained back about 60 (180 to 248). Now...back on my way down. Funny how last time we were probably so focused on the loss, and the next decade, etc....never dreaming of getting back here. Then, we turn around and pick up 1 bad habit....pick up another...and another...etc and then before we know it, we are back where we never thought we would be! Crazy....life does that to us. But, we are strong people, and we obviously caught ourselves and we are trying to head back down the scale New journey, new lessons!!

Kat- I am counting calories, trying to stick with foods from the blood type O list from Eat Right 4 Your Type, and trying to get started back with my exercise.

akelly- Exactly how it happened. First it was a soda here & there and it just snowballed from there.

Thanks for the encouragement & support everyone!!!
