Default Chilly Chat for Thursday December 12

Brrrrr! Coffee is very warming this morning as the house was too cold. That old woman who lives here turned the furnace down too far! It's 0ºF outside and I will need to dress warmly to take out the trash.

I was determined to get my Bling tree up last night but, once again, cannot find the feet for the stand. Seems to me this happens every year and I do remember putting them away saying "Now I'll be able to find them next year" !!! I have Book Club here tonight and did want to be Christmassed-up a bit. Guess I'll have to settle for some other decor. I DID find chicken livers yesterday and will get that pate made and chilling before I continue the search for the missing tree feet.

So it'll be another "at home" day which I thoroughly enjoy. I even remembered to go to the Library yesterday to pick up the next selection for the Book Club. We just finished "A Thousand Splendid Suns" which was a rather dark and depressing read - not my pick! I ended up with "The Kitchen House" which got good reviews and I hope is lighter reading for over Christmas.

Time to haul on warm clothes and lug out the trash. For winter I am keeping the can on the front porch which makes the lug shorter.

Hope everyone in this cold can snuggle into a warm house.

Good Morning

Cold here, too, Ruth! I traveled yesterday so I'm on the Western side of the Great Divide which is now colder than the Eastern. Go figure. I'm leaving to head back over soon.

I had several things to do over here: check the house (it's been a month) and p/u a cabinet which I'd ordered at a Home Depot midway. I had cash for my yearly pool dues, which they give a free month if you pay in full before Christmas. I called my friend on the way and she gladly met me at the pool for some soaking, sun and chatter. It was wonderful.

Now to pack up and head back. Oh, well.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning chicks!

Lexiss, I am so jealous of your pool, I would love to visit it some day! Travel safe and enjoy the day.

Ruth, who is the crazy old woman doing that stuff in your house? I got to read 2 books on my trip (loong commutes), they're both thrillers. I have 3 more to go in my new stash .

For me, super long day, or so it seems. Da boss is a bit overworked and frazzled, so she asked me to do her surgeries today, then on to normal appointments. We're trying to remodel, and it keeps getting delayed, delayed, delayed thanks to an (incompetent) banker. You think with that sized loan they could at least call her back, right?!

DH notified me yesterday he's traveling overnight tonight, then Mon-Thurs next week. When am I supposed to take care of CHristmas stuff?!?!

Everyone at work this week seems to be already on holiday time...lots of visiting and treats but no real work being done...lol....you've got to love this time of year....even my boss seems to be out of his office more than he is in it

Well I am off to start the day....Happy Thursday everyone!!

Good morning It's ridiculously cold here to. I'm taking my time and doing as much desk work as I can come up with to give the temperature time to go up a bit. I need double digits before I'm going out that door!

We went to see It's a Wonderful Life at the local theater last night. I've seen it so many times but never on a big screen. It was even more wonderful than usual Tonight I will do some holiday baking on the new stove. I haven't used the oven yet, waiting for the propane to be adjusted first. Tonight is the night.

It's my Friday and if I really want to be completely off over the holidays I need to buckle down and get a lot done.

Good morning. Temps are supposed to be above freezing here today so DH and I plan to hike for the first time in over a week. Haven't thought any further than that. Okay, I admit, I did think about getting out some of my clothes for my trip even though I'm not leaving for almost two weeks. Swimsuits - ugh.

Have a great day.

Good morning we are warming up today, thankfully since we go to the range. I leave tomorrow just in time for a big snow storm on Saturday in NY. I took Wednesday off from work so I can pick up a package being held at UPS. Besides an extra day off is nice considering I am working OT on Friday. Yesterday was food porn. Otherwise I have been doing OK with my choices. Let's see what the scale says on Sunday.....

Time to bundle up for school...I feel like a little kid again, no wait more like a cranky teenager lol Happy Thursday

Found the legs - put away in the Christmas coffee mug box - the first thing I get out every year - except this one. The tree is up, the lights still work and the Bling is gathered. I have a couple of "bijoux" that I had evaluated last January and they are not going on the tree. Other than those five pieces, the rest of the jewellery is going on! (We sure were big on jewellery back in the 60s and my mother left me a lot too.)

Good morning! Boy, am I thankful for remote starters, heated seats and oddly enough, heated steering wheels. (I thought the latter was stupid, but now I enjoy it.) 42 days until vacation.

Brr here too! It was my garbage morning as well and I had to wear my "fat" coat(translation: down parka)out. We haven't had much snow but I see a storm brewing for the weekend.

Survived another busy day at work and I love coming home to dinner in the crockpot! Creamy Mexican Casserole for us.

Excited about tomorrow being Friday. Huge local craft fair this weekend which is always packed with people and deals. Can't wait!

Hope everyone is keeping warm.
I'm with Pearl- I want to see this bling tree.

Have a great evening!

I think this is the coldest day so far this December...at least here in CT. The snow is so frozen it's like salt crystals. And looks like more snow here for Saturday...just in time for the wedding shower I am throwing for the future SIL. Well, more cake for us! (For her. Still limited cake for me!)

So what is a "bling" tree?
