OK where is everybody??? I've been up checking the boards and no daily thread??? Did I miss something lol
Well good Tuesday morning to all. I wonder if Ruth is lurking about trying to get motivated after her trip.
Not much on the agenda, groceries, doctor appointment and possibly a quick trip to the city to get my gear. Otherwise nothing really new or exciting and that is fine by me! I did tackle an annoying project at Joe's. I untangled the web of wires/cables for his a WIFI, phone and TV. I was able to create a spot in a kitchen cabinet. Installed a power strip to keep it organized. So nice he gets back much needed counter space. I may put up his tree on Wednesday (I'll leave the decorating for him and the kids) I did put up greenery on the entrance and a pretty planter.
Hi there. I've been up for a bit, Jennifer, and was lurking and snooping around to get caught up.
Shoveled snow yesterday and am a bit sore this a.m. A hot bath will fix that. Wet snow is much heavier than regular. My plough dude does the lane with his big machine but the walks and decks still need to be done the old-fashioned way. Disney, the Louisiana belle, refused to go down the snow covered steps to the yard so ...
The only thing I have to do today is take the furries back to the kennel for their bath. It was way to cold here yesterday for Keith to do them so I'll take them back today. The kennel is heated but the doggie doors are tempting. I can't see them staying in there until they dry so will put them into my warm car.
*Sigh* Guess I should unpack my suitcase too and do some laundry. Back to real life today. Putting up some decorations will get me enthused.
I was here earlier, too, but then got sidetracked.
Jennifer, Joe is a lucky guy and I hope you are much appreciated by him. Are you fully recovered from your last leg procedure?
Ruth, it sounds like you are getting right back into the swing of things. I bet the furbabies were estatic to have their Mum back home again.
It was sure nice to have my girls back, and they brought me some very pretty seashells. Now that Thanksgiving is over, they are totally focused on Christmas and had already drug down several bins of decorations from the attic, so we spent yesterday decking the halls. Today after school will be busy, but tomorrow we may go to the tree farm to get our wreaths and roping for the outside of the house. I have to go up to Susie's and bring all her Christmas decorations down to the house so we can go through them, too.
Food has been back on plan again, and I'm already feeling good about myself and a lot more energetic. I have another big weekend coming up, though, but I'll try to keep it to small portions. This is going to be a really tough month!
Good morning I was up late prepping soup and cookies for today's staff meeting so starting a little late this morning. I decided on Kalyn's African Inspired lentil soup because I wanted something simple I could get into the crockpot before bed. I made food porn cookies and plan to give any leftovers to coworkers to take home. The rest are going to work with Tim tonight. We decided not to keep stuff like that around here this year. I've got more than half a bag of white chocolate chips left so those will become Christmas Crack and go to Tim's work too.
Now I'm going to toss some gluten free chocolate peanut truffles in for a gluten intolerant co-worker. Then I'm on the road to the meeting.
Today is the last nice weather day before a cold front hits so DH and I will hike again. First I have some errands to get done, also in anticipation of the precipitation predicted, thinking I'll be happy to stick to home later this week.
I'm sad the boys are gone but glad that I could toss out the tempting food that was around while they were home. DH has announced that he wants to lose 10-15 pounds before we leave for our trip in 3 weeks. Hmm, we'll see how that goes.
I was here long enough to say hello to the newcomers then DH decided he was getting up so I had to divert and spend some family time before getting to the nuts and bolts of the project plan for the day. One rental is being advertised so the big push is to see the second to completion. We have a long road ahead, especially with holidays coming up.
The front is supposed to hit here between noon and 3 and temperatures are supposed to drop to 9 tonight, then -6 tomorrow, -11 Thursday....and back to 0 Saturday night. I am going to have to make midnight runs to check on water in those vacant rentals. Rats.
I am working a holiday party at the restaurant tonight and have to be post project-spiffed up by 4:30. I tried on clothes and got everything set out so I don't have to think about it later.
Thank goodness for my power smoothie AND SBD. I know, today, that I'm up for the challenge.
I have a meeting to go to in a few but wanted to make sure to stop by. I still have been eating op since Friday but have not gotten on the scale yet. I think my goal will just be to not add any more weight and possible if drop a few if possible. I figure if I only eat on Thanksgiving day and Christmas day off plan it should work. It is about not making a celebration out of the whole month and enjoying other aspects instead of food.
Jekel I agree I hope Joe appreciates you.
Ruth hope you keep the doggies warm today and some of your decorating done
Cottage glad you are enjoying the girls again
Cyndi that is nice of you to cook for the meeting and way to plan. I cannot get things out of my house so it has to be more will power on my part.
Sophie enjoy your knitting.
Karen we still have one more day tomorrow before the it hits our area, so tonight I will stop at one store and then tomorrow after work go spend my Kohl's cash before it expires.
Today is a beautiful sunny December day in Canada!! Part of my plan for today is to get outdoors and enjoy it!! It won't be long before the snow is flying!!
Day 8 has started well and I am looking forward to the final week of phase one!! No more eggs!!! (at least for a while anyways )
Lovely day here in Eastern PA again - I do like snow, too, but I LOVE this 45+ degrees - makes is much easier to get up and out!
Last week was a good one: good friends, good food, and turns out the scale seems to still like me. Mashed sweet potatoes and no stuffing seems to have been a good plan . . . I will wait til official "weigh-in Wednesday" to update.
Sounds like some of you are having some chilly weather today! I love the holiday season and even though Thanksgiving just ended, I can't wait for Christmas!
Today was a tough day for me, SB-wise. Did well upon waking and had some spinach/ricotta egg casserole for breakfast, but today work was so busy I missed snack (cheese stick), missed lunch (big salad with tuna) and drank NO water. By the time the dismissal bell rang I was a cranky exhausted mess! And being run down and worn down, I ate badly.
So I am here turning to 3FC to get back on track. Can't let a slip-up take down all my progress! Definitely back OP now.
I hope you all have a good evening, and a wonderful Wednesday!
Evening flyby for me! Just wanted to say hello. Ugly weather today- overcast, 35 and damp. Yuck. It is supposed to be a little warmer for a day or two so maybe some of our snow will melt. Ruth, I moved some of that heavy wet snow last week when it finally arrived and my shoulder really ached the next day.
Assembled the (fake) Christmas tree tonight but it will probably be tomorrow before any decorations are on it. Hoping to get the wreath hung tomorrow as well. I will pick away at decorating for the next few days.
Did pretty well food-wise today. Trying to keep honest as we march through December.
