It's time for a new week of talking On-Plan! This is the place for South Beach meal plan and food support, encouragement and questions.
Anyone, from any phase (1, 1.5, 2, 3, etc.) can post, and those who are new to 3FC are especially encouraged to do so!
This thread is for questions, sharing advice and strategies, and encouraging each other to stay on plan. It is not for chatting about daily life unrelated to this topic. Members have indicated that they would like to have chatting remain in the Daily Thread, so any posts that are off topic or chatty will be moved by the mods to the Daily.
People in different phases of South Beach post here so it will help everyone if you indicate what phase you're in when you post. Thanks!
While you may certainly find, from time to time, the need to ask for help after going off plan, remember that this thread is about staying on plan. When you share details of off plan foods you've eaten, it can upset, tempt, and otherwise frustrate other members, so please keep these details to a minimum.
So, share with us: How are you staying on plan this week?
How's it going for you?
Of course feel free to share your daily on plan menu
Today is my first day on South Beach. I have prediabetes and know that I have to live by the glycemic index and haven't been really good at it so far. Hopefully this will push me in the right direction.
Thank you for responding. I have been sort of following the gi for about 5 years and so I have my menu's in my mind. There are a few area's that I have a hard time following (anything potato related, nacho related, alcohol, that kind of thing).
My dad call's it the 'eat this and die list' and he doesn't fall off the yellow track at all, ever. I wish I had his will power. I dip my toe into the red track too much.
I just need to follow it better and I'm hoping this is the kick start I need to get me on track. It's hard though.
Yesterday I started out great but blew it at dinner as I had to go to emergency (xray foot - not broken but could be cracked. If it's not better in 2 weeks I go back for more xrays. So much for my work outs!!). We got out late and neither one of us felt like cooking so we went out for dinner and I didn't order the salad (shrimp tacos).... and had a couple glasses of wine. Back on track today though.
Wantochange we all have those moments where life gets in the way, whether it be emergency xrays, special occasions, or stress. We all make a wrong choice, food wise, now and again.. the important thing is not to let it ruin your plan, just get right back on track at the next meal. Which you did, that is fantastic.
Hope your foot is feeling better soon!!!
