Has anyone seen the new food items? Chicken in a packet?
Say Whaaaat?
I went to my clinic last night and I was getting my packets and they have chicken...in a packet with sauce! Its called Chicken Dijon something or another... Anyways, I am a firm believer in "don't knock it until you try it" But are they for real?
Seriously, they want you to replace your dinner meat with this? It is like 270 cals and I think she said that they are $5 each, so definitely not a lunch packet right?
What do you all think? I kinda feel like maybe IP is trying to create more products so that people will buy more. I mean they sell that Tisane stuff, which I think is just tea, right?
I am not trying to start a war, I really want to know what you all think about this and will you try it? It may be a good choice for those crazy nights when you forgot to thaw your meat, you could just open up a packet of chicken and heat it up...

Reason: spelling....
My clinic had it when I went to WI yesterday along with the new cereal flakes. My coach said she sold a couple of the chicken packages but hadn't heard back from the people she sold them too so she couldn't say what they were like. I'm waiting for a review before I'll spend the money
It's $10 for one serving and is your dinner meal, not a protein packet. You add your 2 cups of veggies and your dinner is done.
I tried it last week...not the greatest!
$10???? Holy cow are they smokin' drugs?? Yeah, considering that I wouldn't even pay $10 for my beloved strawberry wafers, I don't think I will be trying it...
I really think that IP corporate is trying to make as much money as they possibly can from people. I could buy all the ingredients to make a dinner for 4 people on $10, and it would be IP okay too.
Of course IP is releasing new products to increase monetary gain. That is the goal if a business. And as consumers, we evaluate each product and determine if it fits in with our needs, expectations etc. no harm, no foul and it doesn't make them greedy or less effective in their primary area of expertise. Seems they are just "testing the waters".
I don't plan on purchasing this item as I prefer to opt for "real food" choices for my protein meals (P1-3). However, some may find the convenience of the product to fit in with their lifestyles. Not really much different than buying a frozen or shelf-stable meal of any variety.
I would definitely prefer IP focus in creating a broader selection and improved flavor profile of foods for P1-3. I think that is their best niche... But they will go where consumer purchases take them! We of corse get the final vote by our purchase powers!
I haven't had the chicken yet, but I have seen the packet at my clinic. I don't think something like this would be for everyone (I may try it but since I am in maintenance, I do not have a big need for products), but I can see where I might want to buy something like this if I know I have to travel on business. It would depend where I was going. I travel to Valley Forge, PA and usually stay in a Homestead property there where I have a fridge and cooking facilities, so I would not need it for there, or for Orlando, where they have a lot of healthy dining options. But I will tell you, something like that would have helped a lot when I was in Dallas. I am surprised that there are not people dropping dead right and left in that city with all the unhealthy food! I took along the 'Ideal Complete' when I was there, but it would have been nice to have a non-sweet meal replacement as well.
