This place is overwhelming!
Oh my goodness this place is entirely overwhelming! I have spent the last two days trying to figure out my way around everything.... I almost feel like I am drowning!
How long did it take you guys to figure it out?

Welcome!
Yes it is overwhelming - took me a couple of weeks of lurking but then I wanted my ticker so I dared to post. And it's brilliantly varied and supportive so keep at it.
Pick a couple of threads you want to watch and get to know the people there.

Well, it's good to know I'm not the only one that feels a little overwhelmed then!

I haven't figured this place out.... but I stick mostly in a few places that 'spoke to me' and am slowly exploring out.
but I check into my home bases every day.

My strategy for navigating the site is rather simple. I click on "New Posts" in the blue tool bar and open threads that sound interesting.
I look at the little envelopes to the left of the posts to look for threads I have posted in (there will be a little arrow).
Before posting, I try to remember to check which forum the thread is in. For example, I do sometimes post in forums I don't belong to, but I try to be sensitive. I may for example post a veg*n or low-carb recipes in the those forums... Or I might post in the Weight Watchers forum on a generic topic, but wouldn't bash WW.

I have been in here sooo many times and I still don't know where to go lol
WW is usually what I do but this time I am doing Intermittent fasting, it just seems easier not to have to worry about food for a few hours lol.
AND my husband has just joined me.....First time!!!
He He Kaplods that's how I found this post just going straight to "New Posts"

I do the same with the "New Posts" button. I generally find it easier to have new posts lumped together and I can sort them by topic of interest. I, too, keep in my which forum the thread is in, however.

I post everywhere LOL!
This has been such a great site to keep me motivated. I do the new post thing too. I even read forums about things that don't really pertain to me.
I get bored at work a lot during the down season

I feel like I've been here forever, and I never knew there was a symbol indicating which threads we have posted to! I just tried to remember! This will make things much easier! Thanks Kaplods!

It is overwhelming! I mostly hang out in in a couple of sub forums that pertain to me, one of which is "100 lb club," lots of great people here and we have similar goals and issues which is so helpful. I also joined a couple of challenges on "Chicks up for a Challenge." That's a great place to make friends and get motivated!
When I can I visit the other areas. The more weight I lose, the more issues come up: what do I wear, how do I moisturize, how to I step up my exercise, etc. There are places for all of that!

Intermittent fasting has been the most successful for me in weight loss. As long as you stick with the basics of nutrition you can still add some of your favorite foods that's not as nutritional for you. That keeps you on track and sane.
