I am doing strength training (Jillian Michael Body Revolution at the moment). That definitely gives the round shape.

It's ridiculous to think that walking on an incline will reduce the roundness of one's backside. I don't know what those girls looked like before. Perhaps the extra fat they carried back there was the only shape they had and with the weight loss, so went their a$$es.

In order to get that lovely shape back there, you really need to concentrate on developing your glutes, and it's true that just walking an incline won't cut it, unless you are purposefully working those muscles back there. Just doing squats and lunges without good form and focusing on the right muscles won't do very much for you either.

I like to use Bret Contreras' Strong Curves for my glutes work. Definitely seeing a difference.

I think it will vary from person to person and what kind of body type that they have. I have always had a big butt. I started running 4 years ago and I STILL have a big butt. It's smaller then it was at 298 lbs but it's still big.

I run on a treadmill (with an incline), my butt is still there, but it is less fat... as is all the rest of me. It isn't a lovely bubble butt though, but it never was.

Actually, if you put the treadmill on an incline it is supposed to work your butt muscles.
