Default 100 lbs lost and rethinking my self image

Hi Folks,

I am 2 months post surgery. I have lost 100 pounds, 65 post-op and 35 pre-op. I am just shy of 60, and thought I would be fat the rest of my life. My surgeon insists that I will lose another 170 to 220 pounds in the next 16 months. I have not been able to get my head around the reality of my surgery.

I am beginning to have faith in my surgeon. Everything he has told me so far has been true. He told me I would be tired after the surgery. He told me I would lose 30 to 50 pounds the first month. Now when he tells me I will lose an additional 170 to 220 pounds, I am starting to believe him.

I'm trying to change my mindset, and believe it is all real. I appreciate being able to share with all of you. Reality, come get me.

Best,

D

congratulations! it's really quite a shock, isn't it? the head games that you'll be seeing are ASTONISHING - at least, that's been my experience.

just take it one day at a time. Don't focus on the next 16-24 months. You'll get through them soon enough - one day at a time.

get your protein and water in, and put one foot in front of another, and you'll be FINE!!! sooooo proud of you!
