Talking FluffyGrover's Mini Goal Diary

So, I started my "lifestyle change" on August 19, 2013 and I've managed to lose 10 pounds so far. I'm no stranger to the diet game but this time I know it's different. I feel it in my bones. I have set some mini goals up for myself to keep my eyes on my future. My first set of mini goals is to get to the weight I was when I first met my husband ten years ago, which is 196. And when I make it to that weight I'll prepare a new set of goals for myself.

08/19/13 - Beginning Weight: 245
08/30/13 - Current Weight: 234.8
12/30/13 - One-derland: 199

Mini Goal #1 - 5% of beginning body weight (12 lbs) by 09/07/13= 233 lbs
Mini Goal #2 - 10% of beginning body weight (24.5) by 10/19/13= 220 lbs
Mini Goal #3 - 15% of beginning body weight (36.75) by 11/30/13= 208 lbs
Mini Goal #4 - One-derland 199 lbs by 12/30/13
Mini Goal #5 - 20% of beginning body weight (49 lbs) by 01/03/13=196 lbs

Wish me luck

Good luck! I look forward to seeing your progress! Having a series of mini-goals to shoot for can be very motivational!

I'm a "celebrate every single victory" kinda gal - right down to making the right food choice at every meal. You just can't celebrate the right choices enough!

You should check out the "Chicks Up for a Challenge" forum: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chic...challenge-159/. I'm involved in the August Weight Loss Challenge. (We're a very chatty group and love when new people join in.) It's ending soon but a new September Weight Loss Challenge thread will be starting up very soon. There are lots of threads there to choose from to help you stay motivated and accountable and to help you reach your mini-goals!

Default Still Going Strong

I'm still going strong even though I'm fluctuating back and forth with my weight, I'm not going to give up. I have more motivation than I've ever had in my life. I have bigger goals than I've ever had before. I've begun my journey from Couch to 5K. I'm training my body to jog, which is something I've never done before. I started out jogging 23 seconds straight and in 3 days have progressed to 45 seconds. We're talking about someone who wouldn't have even jogged if my life had depended on it; someone who during the zombie apocalypse would just lay down and get chewed to death instead of run!! I'm running. It may be for 45 seconds but it's faster than I've ever ran in my life I'm hoping that in a few months I'll be able to run my first 5K, even though I'd be happy right now if I could just make it around one lap. I'm excited and I'm motivated. I don't ever want this feeling to go away. Just thought I'd share

Thank mzshaunna and MrsKevin. Your words make things a lot easier for me. I look forward to them

I gained a little weight after achieving my first mini goal but it will be gone and I'll be back down soon!!

Well, I'm still going strong since I began my journey on August 19th. It's been over a month and I haven't quit and that's actually quite amazing because usually around this time, I give up. I hit 231 on Friday but gained weight over the weekend. I'm back down to 232 this morning and I'm really hoping to be out of the 230's by Friday.

I've been MIA for a couple of weeks (eating plan going super, no worries there) but came back just now and this is the first thread I'm following I'm peeking in on-- and it all started cuz I love your silly name FluffyGrover. Great read and updates. Rock it, Gal!

Thank you MrsKevin. I appreciate that!!

Today I weighed in at 230.6. I didn't hit 229 like I wanted to but it's okay. I'm going down and that's all that matters. I'm hoping to be 225 by Halloween. I'd be happier if I was at 220 but I've been losing weight consistently and I've never stayed this long on any diet or lifestyle change so I know I will get there eventually
