Default ~~September Golden Girls~~

We are about Fitness and Quality of Life after 50...
We are about Fun and Friendship after 50...
We are the Golden Girls...

There is Value in us
There is Power in us
There is Wisdom in us
And Laughter....
We are a rainbow of unique wonders,
There is love in us.
(poem by Dorothy Holmes)

Tell us a little about your life, family and goals. What keeps you motivated? What is the best thing that's happened to you since you passed the 50 mark? 60 mark? 70 mark? Friends laugh, cry and stand by each other, we'll be that to you!

According to our 10 day forecast, it will still be above 100 degrees here until September 10th, when it is supposed to drop down to 98. I won't worry about the sweaters and soup, yet, but am looking forward to an eventual cool down.

Hello everyone! We didn't get to church today. Not enough sleep...my usual stuff plus gd had a bad dream and woke us all up. Thank God she went back to sleep easily, but I'd already lain awake for hours so still didn't get a good sleep plus ached from head to toe. Yesterday was also not a good day for me...didn't feel well and didn't get my day started right and feel I was grouchy and impatient all day. I love them very much and don't want to be that way but it can be difficult when you are tired and hurt. Hopefully I'll be better today. By last night I was letting my diet go and eating corn chips and salsa. Still I must have not done too badly as I still lost 2.6# this week and am getting close to my sig weight again, plus more importantly my bs was much lower this morning that it usually is. Despite the corn chips, go figure... Maybe I should eat corn chips every night. ...LOL just kidding.

Still enjoying nice warm sunny days. Hope to get outside before it gets too warm. At least the kids are dressed, not like yesterday when I couldn't get them to even do that until way later. We had planned to go to a church picnic but I am not up to that.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Take care.

The good news is that my

Good Day all....Quiet holiday weekend with about 2 zillion scallopers and their boats clogging ramps/restaurants/parking. So we stay tucked in at home. Have any of you ever cooked the packaged baby back ribs? I haven't but gonna try them tonight. I'll report.

I surprised myself this week. I have been giving my puzzles to friend and she has been passing them on. BUT Monday I realized she was passing them to the wife of a gentleman (bridge player) who I absolutely despise Hate grrrrrrr.... I even stopped him and asked him if his wife was enjoying the puzzles. He said he never noticed (about $100 worth of puzzles). I was so miffed that I told the friend I was not giving her anymore puzzles. I would loan them but I wanted them back. She begged me to reconsider I said okay, but stayed awake all night ticked off and emailed her that it wasn't okay. One of those no good deed goes unpunished! I already have another outlet for my used ones......I get mad quick but over even quicker until you push my tick off button and then revenge is mine sayth the Lord and Karen!

How can you be talking about Fall...We are half way thru Summer. It thundered this am for 10 minutes just because....boats piled back in to the launch and the storm evaporated. So they all went back out. Thank goodness some people realize being in a boat with lightening isn't a smart idea. We live in the lightening capital and it can occur way ahead of the storm.

Rosey...I can't wait to see the after pictures!

I am having an identity crisis. I have always known that I am the spitting image of my father until this week. I was digging thru an old trunk and found a picture of my mother's father...my PopPop.
I look exactly like him. Who am I?

My Dh has a weird humor and often embarrasses me by blurting out stuff. Like Friday he told the woman in front of us with 2 noisy boys that he killed his kids at that age. We were eating and a young Little Person come in and stood eye level with our dinners. I asked her name and age. Told me she was 7 but held up 4 fingers still staring at the plates. Dh never uttered a sound. Who is this man? Then a 2nd Little Person came over and helped stare. He never uttered a sound......OMG who is this man....what happened to my DH? Laughed all weekend. Later in the car I asked him and he said he thought they looked just like Dash.

BBL to do personals...k3

Donna did you spit your coffee on the screen?

Hi Everyone,

Reading a VERY cute & funny book - Vericose (sp?) Vigilantes. About senior citizens taking on drug lords in Miami, FL.
Unfortunately, my Nook died (5 years old). Do I get a new Nook for almost $200, or an I-pad for over $300? Any suggestions?

Happy September,

Lynn

Quick check in, Goldens...

GORGEOUS here today! Nice and cool. The new cat is lounging in the bay window. I still haven't decided whether to keep his given name of Samson. When I call "Sammy", it just doesn't feel right. He's very cuddly and oh, so sweet... but he's still not eating. He did drink a lot of water this morning, so that's a good sign! Anyway, glad I'm off today, so we can continue to do the motherly bonding thing.

Hope you have a lovely day off, complete with bbqs and celebrations! I think I'll do laundry!

Later, lovelies!

Lynn, I got an ipad mini and I LOVE it!! I didn't have any of the others so I can't compare to any. But I really like the ipad. We were at the Guy Penrod concert last night and this picture was taken with my ipad! By the way the concert was wonderful!!

Hoping everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!

The large picture of Sunflowers is one my mom painted. I never had a spot for it in my country house but I have my own computer room now.
