Seems like I've been bouncing from 169 to 168 to 169 over and over and over! I'm so tired of it. I've not cheated on my diet or anything, but no downward progress appears to be occurring. It is super hard to maintain my motivation when I keep going back up. I was doing fine, even when the scale only moved 1/10 of a pound at a time. At least it was progress toward my goal. Now I'm stuck in limbo and it's driving me crazy. I feel almost like could cry when I see that it's gone back up to 169 again. I'm even sick of seeing 168. Where is 167, 166, 165??? Seriously down today.
I agree, it's time to do something different Changing your workout is a great way to start. Adding in more exercise sessions helps a lot of people. Maybe even change your diet plan. What are you currently following?
Hang in there, though. I know that moments like these are tough, but they don't last forever as long as you don't give up. Let us know as soon as you see movement
I don't do "intentional" exercise for the most part, due to physical disability. Weight loss is won on diet, which is where I am at. My diet has been good, no deviations. I do the physical therapy that I can, but additional exercise is not a possibility.
Maybe take a day and not track your food intake? I'm not saying go all out and eat whatever you want...still keep to what you would eat as if you were on plan, but don't weigh, don't measure, just eyeball it.
I've been dieting for 3 months, and for the past 3 days I did not count my calories. I was house-sitting, and stressed, and hormonal, and my inner petulant child just went "I don't wanna!" I bought healthy food so I wouldn't be tempted to go after the junk food in my parents cabinets, and just eyeballed everything. I ate when I was hungry. I stopped eating when I felt the beginnings of getting full.
When I went over to house-sit, I was at 204lbs...a weight I had continued to bounce back to over the course of 10 days ish (went as low as 201, then back up to 204). when I weighted myself today, I was exactly 200lbs, and I feel really great! I think those few days gave me the mental break I needed, plus it changed up my eating routine so I wasn't eating the same old stuff I was eating at home.
Thanks, maybe it's time for a higher calorie day. I hate that, but I've found that occasionally that is what has to happen to push you into the next round of weight loss.
Ok I sucked it up and did it. Yesterday I ate about 500 extra calories. Today I weighed in at 170lb. So up a whole pound. Depressing, but hopeful that now the scale will begin a downward movement once again.
Best of luck to you, I'm stuck in the upper, inching and I mean inching to the mid 160s, I'm only 5'3 (&1/2).
Do you usually eat the same things at the same time, sometimes your body can build up a resistance to routine, whether it's diet or exercise.
There are a lot of plans that recommend some type of cycling, not bicycling , varying your carbs, cals, points (the Wendy plan comes to mind), so your new approach should work.
Given your weight and height (you are at a really, really healthy weight for your height already!), and your lack of ability to exercise, you might really struggle to lose more. Your body is probably pretty happy where it is.
Calorie cycling is worth a try. You could also look into eating really high quality food. Don't worry about the 1lb gain - it's probably form more salt or carbs.
