I have been following SB for well over a year. Maintaining with little trips back to my friend P1 when necessary. Well recently when I have something sweet, chocolate cake, I get very sick about an hour after eating it. I mean violently ill for hours. First time thought it was food poisoning. Definitely not the case last night. I think maybe my body just cannot handle high sugar content anymore. Does anyone else experience this?

I haven't gotten "violently" ill but notice I am in the bathroom (with some stomach pain) a lot more when I follow SBD for a while then go off plan. Horrible for a car ride!

Perhaps you should go to the doctor? Rule out other things like IBS...

I am having a full body scan on the 25th. Thanks to our union they got us a really great deal. My mom, grandma and maternal aunts had their gallbladders removed in their 40's. So maybe that culprit too

I don't know about "violently ill", but I've certainly gotten sick when I eat stuff I'm not used to. The other day I got up around 0800 hrs and only had 2 cups of coffee until about 1700 hrs. By the time I finally ate, I was so hungry that I got VERY sick. I learned my lesson...and I knew better anyway.

I am 36 and had mine removed 5 years ago. Didn't solve anything. Grrrr.

Good luck and let us know.

Oiy vey! I told my dr about a few other little issues, that silly me "thought" were completely normal. Fasting begins at midnight, guzzling 32 ounces of water at 7:30, hospital at 7:45 for pelvic and abdominal ultrasounds, followed by blood work, GI doctor on Thursday. My doctor is stumped because I present symptoms from a few GI diseases. Personally I think I am a unique freak of nature LOL

Well not even home an hour and my doctor calls me (love him he is so good) There is a thickening of the gallbladder wall which is indicative of two things either gallstones or cholecystis. Not an emergency, but cause for concern. Need to follow up with surgeon and gastro doctor. First available is the 25th. Great the day before we leave for vacation and I will be running around from NYC to Carmel to Cortlandt. Guess I should start my packing this week lol

Yay for getting results so soon but ick. I had my gall bladder removed eight weeks before my wedding! And it was for naught (it was only working at 13% I guess so they thought that's why I was having such GI issues) because it didn't alleviate any symptoms. Like you, my GI is stumped - I present like Chrone's and IBS but don't have Chrone's or ulcertative and only gastritis. So, for now, I am taking Questran which is the drink from heaven IMHO and cures my living in the bathroom. Have to mix it with juice but is soooo worth being a little off plan so that I don't live by a toilet.
