I'm never consistent in this area and I work 50 hours a week along with chasing after a toddler and running a household. How can I find time to exercise more frequently? What would anyone suggest? I hate working out is it necessary? I want my belly as tone as possible.

Maybe you could buy/do some exercise dvds! That way you can do it in your own house! Some are really good workouts!

I've tried that and somehow my son managed to get into our DVDs and scratch them. Ill have to find a hiding spot I guess.

If your goal is to be toned, exercise helps a lot. My sister never exercises and she looks toned, but she has that look because she's very thin (5'2" and only 105 pounds) and naturally has more muscle than most women. For the rest of us, to build that lean muscle look, we really do need exercise.

The good news is even a little bit helps. The key is consistency, I think. Ten minutes a day of some intense cardio and strength training can work wonders. I'd rec looking up some dvds that have short workouts and good reviews.

I know it's hard, but just make time. During the school year, I work 40-45 hours a week plus go to school and I still made time to get to the gym 3 days a week M-F for at least an hour. If I can do it, so can others! It won't be easy but you'll be happy you did it. Even if you went on YouTube and found quick 10 minute workouts, at least it's something!

Perhaps you can find DVDs for exercising with your toddler. I know they make those "mommy & me" fitness DVDs. Also, you could take your toddler for walks in the park or if he/she is young enough, get a jogging stroller.

Working out can be a real drag if you are forcing yourself to do it, and if that's the case you probably won't stick to it. Maybe you can look for some fun workout DVDs or classes. If you like dancing then maybe you can join in on dance classes at your local gym. Going to dance classes is how I became consistent with exercising, now I look for a challenge and do almost all the different type of classes. Having others workout with me keeps me going.

Check to see if you can get a free trail at the gym to see how you like it, if its something you really want to do you'll find time. Most gyms offer sitters as well.

If you´re thinking of workout dvds I would recommend Turbo Jam, it´s so much fun (i swear) that time flies and there are a few “short” workouts like the 20 minute one which is hard, fun and short!
I had serious problems with sticking to exercise, I would start full speed but only last a week, Turbo Jam is so fun that it has helped me enormously to be consistent!

Walk walk walk. Take your kid out in a stroller, I do that every day. I also wear a pedometer because mentally it makes every step count.

You know what they say.... good nutrition makes you look good in your clothes, but exercise makes you look good naked!

And YES, EXERCISE IS VITAL! Why? Because humans were designed to move move move. We weren't designed to sit on our butts all day long. We sit in cars, in trains, at our desk, in front of the tv. It's ridiculous how much we sit.

Less movement and sugar are the 2 reasons why so many people are suffering from metabolic syndrome in our day and age! So get up and get moving!
