Red face Nervous!

So I am going with a friend of mine to a gym today. I am nervous scared and excited! I almost want to put it off! I hope there are not many people there.

I wish I had a friend to go to the gym with!! I think you will love it!!

Just wear something that you feel comfortable in (like a shirt that doesn't go up too far when you stretch, etc.) and you will do great.

Act like you belong there just like anyone else there does, because YOU DO!

I'm so proud of you for going out of your comfort zone and trying this. You are awesome, JustB.

I went to gym for a couple of years and what I learned is that most people don't even look at you. They are all there to work out and do their own thing. When I saw a big girl or guy working out, I always thought "Good for them!"

You belong there so have fun!

It was fun!! I did 15 ish minutes on the treadmill at 3 ish mph and a 30 minute aerobics class. I was the biggest one there but oh well. I am more nervous about actually joining because they do a health assessment!

that's awesome one step in the right direction .. I went on a walk with my girls tonight for an hour I was sweating oh yes it was pouring down my head but you know what I felt good real good ..and you should too..

Congrats on the gym! I haven't worked up the nerve yet...my husband supposedly gets a gym membership for free so I reckon I will have run out of excuses not to go.

Don't be nervous about this!! This is the best part! (I'm not crazy - just think about how a year from now when you look at yourself in the mirror and see how AMAZING you look you can look back and know just how far you've come. If you think about the fact that these are numbers you'll NEVER have to see again, knowing them can be very motivating!) You can totally do this!

Don't worry about the health assessment. They just want to know your stats and abilities at the start, so they can HELP you make a plan to achieve your goals. They want to see your progress. Actually, if I was a trainer, I think to see someone transform their body through diet and exercise and know that I had a part in it would be thrilling. Isn't that the whole point? You're going to love it! It's great when you realize that you're getting stronger and stronger, and it's all because of YOU and YOUR effort!

JustB, I LOVE going to the gym.......for the social part of it. Mine is about as non-threatening as it gets in terms of people who attend and I do notice how much better I feel when I go. Sounds like you did great, and people are overall very supportive of us trying to make positive changes in our lives.
