Default Ladies question!

Since losing weight...

how have your periods changed? I've noticed that since I lost weight, I went from not having any problems with my period to experiencing real PMS symptoms and turning into a raging lunatic (exaggeration of course, but you get what I mean) the week before my period. I get more crampy and bloated too -- the symptoms are just way more obvious than they were before. I know I drive my parents up the wall cause I freak out over really silly stuff during this time. What about you guys?? And is there anyway to like...make it stop? Not my period, of course, but just make my PMS symptoms calm down a little bit. My dad thought I was gonna stroke out yesterday, lol.

My TOM is extremely irregular these days and PMS severe. It doesn't help that the week before I'm about 5 pounds heavier but I know it's all water.

For me during those days I take extra long walks with music blaring in my ears and it really really helps. Also trying to fit in a 30 minute nap after work helps too.

I fear I may have PMDD sometimes because the week before my period I am basically unstable, and all I want to do is sleep & eat for a few days. I get HIGHLY irritable & it's best if I just avoid people altogether at those times. Last month, my symptoms were less intense though. Less cramping, less extra weight, fewer cravings for pizza. I still teared up at nothing & got irritable though. Buuuut, my period was shorter & lighter, can't complain about that!

Oddly, my periods used to NEVER change, I could literally plan them like clockwork. Even down to the time of day I would start . .

Now, I went to from my regular 28 day cycle to a few 24 day cycles, THEN last month it was a 30 day cycle, which totally freaked me out.

Now, I'm just setting here realizing that I 'should' be starting sometime this week, but I don't have any PMS symptoms. I don't feel bloaty, irritable, or any of the usual stuff.

I have only lost 15 pounds and I certainly am not too thin or anything, so I really don't have a rational explanation for all of this.

I may have more to do with the fact that I am 36 years old now??

Do you guys use a period tracker app on your phone? I TOTALLY love mine. It really helps me to be able to go back and try to figure out why I was irritable one month, not so much the next etc. The one I'm using is called, P.D.

Yup! My periods changed from irregular cycles and barely feeling any symptoms to pretty bad cramping, b!tchiness, etc. It seems more pronounced now and I now have regular cycles (24-30 days, before it was very sporadically, every few months or so.)

I just have to remember to take 2 tylenols as soon as I know TOM is here, otherwise I'm basically in a fetal position for a couple of hours due to the dumb severe cramping (not sure if that's because of the cyst I have on my ovary, just discovered it 6 weeks ago and will be rechecking this week to be sure it isn't any bigger.) Luckily that's just for the first day or two.

Mine changed, but for the better. They used to be long and heavy, now they're shorter and much lighter, as well as arriving like clockwork. I've never experienced bad PMS so can't comment on that, but overall my hormones have been much more 'normal' since dropping a significant chunk of weight.

Previously I had some symptoms that mimicked PCOS - those have completely resolved now.

I'm REALLY hoping that this will happen for me. I have always had menstrual issues, and this sounds exactly like mine. I never really know when they're going to come, it's between 30 days to 46 days.

I'm hoping that as I drop more weight and continue eating healthy, I can have more "normal" cycles.
