Happy Friday!!!!

I woke up this morning and was feeling skinnier. I love it when that happens. I think it's because TOM is over and I'm not bloated anymore.

Hope everyone has a great OP Friday!

Has anyone ordered from plainprotein.com in the last few days? I need to order some supplements, but the website hasn't been working since I tried last night. Just wonderig how long it's been down.

Good morning IPers! I had another food dream last night - my first in quite awhile. We were driving and pulled into a rest stop area to grab something to eat. All they had on a buffet was Greek yogurt and strawberries. I think I'm P3-obsessed!

I'm almost a week into P3 and am maintaining my weight. So far, so good! I just hope I can do the same into maintenance. I already know there are some things I'm never going to trust myself to eat again. It's time to acknowledge that there are some things that I just can't have just one serving of.

Hope you all have a great OP day!

Happy Friday!

My origin plan when I started this plan in February was to phase off by Memorial weekend, maintain that weight over the summer and start on plan again in the fall. Have any of you taken a break like this? If so, how did it work out for you? I am starting to question whether this is a good idea or if I should just stick to plan until I hit my goal.

Thanks for your input!

I stayed OP through the holidays and through several multi-week vacations. For me, I felt it was easier to just stick to the plan throughout instead of starting and stopping, and I was afraid to risk messing up something that was so clearly working. My personal feeling is that you should just stick to the plan until you are where you want to be. Why prolong it? You really don't have that far to go.

Some people do this without any issues, others really struggle and can't really stick to phase 1 after a break.

In the fall there will be Thanksgiving, then Christmas. If you stay on phase 1 until you get to goal, then you can be in maintenance for the holidays.

Like bubbleblower said, why prolong it. Keep that momentum going that you have now and you will be at goal before you know it.

I am doing the same thing--- except I'm phasing off now, and plan to pick up in the fall. I am only 15 lbs to goal,. so I'm hoping my 2nd go round will only be a few weeks. I have some vacations coming up, and thought it would be easier if I wasn't following the plan, but still making wise choices.

I personally would just stick with it and get it done. I think it would work for some but others seem to struggle getting back into the swing of things.

Happy Friday everyone! This has seemed like a VERY long week so I'm very thankful it's almost over.

I would echo what ragdoll and bubbleblower have said.

There are some who have been able to phase off and then get back to P1 after a little while without issue. But many more have come back and found that it's harder to stick to P1 after being off it for a while, plus more than a few have reported that the weight loss was slower. Maybe you'll be a lucky one who can just jump back in with no issues...but do you really want to take that chance?

I started P1 in July last year. Made it through BBQs, holidays, big family and social functions, my high school reunion and my birthday, all while on P1. If I had decided to phase off for any of those things, I would not be in maintenance now! I also would not have learned many of the valuable lessons (in how to handle food AND how strong I could be in tough situations) that staying on P1 through those things taught me.

You ultimately have to do whatever it is you feel is right, but just know that it is TOTALLY doable to stick to P1 through whatever the summer might have to offer....and you will be all the stronger for it

I also agree with you and ragdoll and bubbleblower, I think it would be harder to get back on and why prolong your goals. Theres always gonna be events that we have to get through, they dont stop, if we wait for every party, wedding, bbq, we would just be back were we started. In the end we are learning to make good eating decisions, for life!
But you have to do whats best for you!
Good luck!

Morning, All --

All I know is, P1 is working so well for me, I'd be willing to stay on it the rest of my life if I had to. Easter was hard, and I passed on a ballgame the other day, but I am in the midst of clearing out my whole closet, throwing away the "tents," and am liking how I look in a few things. That hasn't happened in a decade or more. No food, imo, is worth the trade-off.

I went shopping yesterday. I have moved into XL's which, for my former plus-sized body, is very welcomed. I started in the plus sizes and quickly realized that they will all be too big, either today or next month. I looked yonder, to the "misses" department. I walked over and sort of skirted the area. Didn't quite have the nerve to go all the way in, LOL. Isn't that crazy? In some ways, I just can't get my mind around this yet. (So I went to my favorite thrift shop where the sizes are mostly mixed together and found some nice things. Whatever works.)

Why didn't I find this diet sooner?? I shudder to think about not having sat where I sat in my son's orthodontist office and not over-hearing the conversation that I overheard, and not having the nerve to ask what diet they were talking about . . . what a life-changing moment.

For those struggling, stick with it at all costs. It will work, and it is worth it.
