Does that seem about right? (the carbs at that % is 36 grams a day, and thought the range is roughly 20-40)
My coach said approx 20/30/50% carbs/fat/protein & not to go over 1000 cals but I'm usually under so 950 is probly fine. She also said not to get hung up on numbers & if online is easier than paper then DO IT! I also added fiber tracking so I could more easily see net carbs, which usually are under 40g.
I think MFP is a very helpful tool and tracking is a good skill to start now b/c it will be necessary in maintenance.

Thanks Lisa! From everything I have seen here on the forums I knew I would need to get into this habit as doing the tracking online will end up giving all the information I will need when I go to maintenance. Just have to get into the habit.

Oh yes, the Easter bunny finally got to me!Week 10 WE today at a svellte 182.8!!! that's a huge 4.4 pounds for me <3

Morning all!

I use MFP app on my phone, just started that about a week ago,
I really like it, its good to see what I'm eating and keep track of it.
Sometimes the calories seem so low, hard to believe i feel so good!
Especially when Im eating fish or shrimp, big difference in calories.

Well hope you all have a great OP day!
WI tonite, my scales says 1 down, we'll see, I did stay OP, these last
few pounds are gonna be slow and expensive, so I will stick with it, so
worth every lb down. Almost wedding weight, its been 22 years!! LOL!

Ciao for now!

Maybe it's just me, but I found MFP really confusing to navigate...
And wow rose on the loss, my WI is Thursday, trying to stay positive, with all the ham I ate
Off to work, got my salad and pasta ready (made last night). Added some kelp chips and a bar to my bag cause I'm getting my hair done after work. Dinner will be late. Have a wonderful day IPeeps!!!

Morning everyone!! I've been a MFP user for years and it's how I lost 40 some pounds 2 years ago ... before my thyroid decided to be stupid. I do track there and also on paper but mostly on MFP so it stays a regular part of my day.

Did well this weekend .. no chocolate and stayed OP ... it was hard though .. so much good food and I found myself missing it a little bit but I survived.

I was a little disappointed that not one person in my extended family (who I haven't seen since Christmas) didn't notice that I've lost almost 30 pounds :/

Oh well .. I notice and that's what matters. Happy Tuesday!

I know it's tough when those closest to you don't notice or just don't bother to comment on your weight loss but I wouldn't worry about it. You're absolutely right that YOU notice and that's what really matters.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm anxiously counting down the hours till I see my chiropractor and acupuncturist. I've got a bad back to begin with and last week while out at the barn I was trying to jump across a wet muddy patch in one of the horse paddocks....well my boot got stuck and I ended up falling completely in the mud (ok I'm sure it was MOSTLY mud). Well I've obviously twisted my back and now I'm numb right down my right arm into my fingers. Oh joy! I hope she can fix me up.

Good morning all! I have a question...has anyone presented this plan to their Dr and been told to only do it for a couple of weeks? My SIL brought the info packet that I got from my coach to her Dr and she was told that it would be okay but only for a couple of weeks. My SIL needs to lose significant weight and has had a hard time losing. Apparently her Dr. is concerned because she can't eat fruit...she hardly eats fruit now and she certainly doesn't eat 4 cups of veggies everyday even when she's doing WW.

I told her that if she was only going to do it for a couple of weeks, then it isn't worth doing...she'll lose water weight and maybe a few lbs but the once she starts eating normally, she'll gain the water weight back. Not worth the first 3 days of carb withdrawal, IMHO. Just wondering what your take on this is...

Regarding the BBQ ridge discussion from yesterday's thread...there was a recall on those and the salt & vinegar ridges.

S&V are available to order again but BBQ isn't quite yet.

I so agree with you on the others noticing. Others will notice and feel silly they didn't notice earlier in the end. Just keep on keeping on :-)
I'm sorry about your fall. Reminded me of the times I stepped out of my barn boot in "mostly" mud due to the boot getting stuck around the cow feeders- ugh. Falling in it, in this cold weather, just gives me chills thinking about it. On the good side (always looking for that, and you can't unfall so why not consider...) people pay good $$ for mud baths . Wishing you a fast recovery.

For what it's worth, all the other diets I've done I have not tracked my foods as directed. I just couldn't get into it. This time, I am tracking and if it's tracking that has kept me on course, or being on course that has helped me track, I can't say. But - it's working! I know I don't want to track things I shouldn't be eating so that I believe is the key - even if I don't show my journal to anyone else, "I" know what's on there.

I agree that this is not a short term start/stop diet. Putting yourself thru the carb withdrawl (to me) is not worth it for such a short time period. My doctor was very supportive even though she did not know IP (I told her it was similar to Atkins without the fat). She wanted to do tests every 3 months. After initial start test and the results after three months she was really happy with the changes that showed up. Perhaps your SIL might consider talking to Dr. about follow up after a certain point to ensure all is well?

SIL says she is going to do the diet until her next appt in a month. I told her to keep in mind that her dr is not a nutritionist or dietician so she isn't necessarily the authority on diets...after all she hasn't come up with a diet to help SIL so far. I also told SIL that after seeing the amazing results, feeling good and not being hungry, she prolly won't care what the dr says!

Oh I know what you are talking about. When my weight loss journey started I lost 30lbs to get to where I am today (and have been stuck for 2 years). I went from a size 18 to a size 12. My coworkers complimented me but my immediate family said NOTHING when they came to visit. And you have to realize they hadn't seen me in months so the difference should have been striking. And I did get a few comments about being fat from them after I had my son since I was thin my entire life until a complicated pregnancy helped me gain a ton of weight.

Point is, you love your family and friends but they can be real turds when it comes to being supportive. Just keep telling yourself "its them not you". I just joined a weight watchers support group because I'm doing IP at home with organic products so I don't have an IP coach. I have my first meeting today and I hope talking with others helps to motivate me as much as one-on-one with a coach.

Congrats on your weight loss. I have PCOS and I understand how hard won weight loss is when you have endocrine issues.

Default Water?

Today is only Day 2 for me...I actually feel great, has not been bad at all. I have a 2L water bottle that I drink throughout the day at work....on top of that I have about 16oz. before work and another 16 oz. after work. I am sure that is a fine amount of water but I find myself thirsty even still...can I drink too much water for this diet??????????? Has anyone ever asked their coach this question?

When I saw my Doctor last month she noticed immediately that I had lost a lot of weight. I told her exactly what I was doing and her only small concern was the amount of salt intake. I had suffered with high blood pressure for years and was on meds to control it. But, I'm now completely off my meds and my bp is sitting in the normal range.
