Mini-GoalsEven if you're not at goal yet, this is the place to share your successes and achievements along the way! Success can be measured in many ways besides the scales. Tell us about your triumphs, including Non Scale Victories
I see so many posts, including my own, that start off with "it's not a big deal," "it's only five pounds," "it's a small thing, but..." We don't need to apologize for feeling good about our hard work! Let's shout it out. No one here is gonna tell you, "hey that's only one pound different between 200 and 199, you have no right to post here." Let's celebrate every pound without shame. I know my mini-goals are ridiculously close together but that's what keeps me going. Some are only 2lbs but 2lbs is not nothing, is it?
Absolutely. I still have a mountain to lose, but I can't tell you psychologically how it felt when I updated my ticker and realized that I am under 200 pounds in terms of weight to lose. Yes, it's a huge amount, but for some reason needing to lose 199 pounds seems much more doable than 200. So if your mini-goal is 2 lbs or 20, let's celebrate every pound lost.
Amen, these are just the type of posts we all need to read to keep us motivated. I had a stall in only my second week, but reading about others struggles, successes and long term commitment makes my journey easier.
I absolutely celebrate each and every pound and inch lost. After seeing the scale climb for so long, I love celebrating each number it goes down. Each step towards progress is worth a cheer.
The best thread I have read yet!!! What awesome thoughts. Somebody posted the other day, "I only lost 40 lbs so far." I quickly replied for them to go to the store and get a handheld shopping basket and go to the sugar isle and get four 10 lb bags of sugar, put them in the basket and pick them up. Now, that is a super amount of weight you have lost. Every time I cut up a chicken and cut the yucky yellow fat off, I think of that yucky stuff in my body. You see, when I had surgery in 2006 to remove the 7+ inches of excess skin from my many years of gaining, losing, gaining, losing etc, she took out strips of fat that were between my ribs and made a picture for me, I realized that the fat in my body looks just like the fat off a chicken, same color, texture, everything. Kinda gross ain't it!
