Default Eating twice a day?

I worked from home yesterday so my eating was not bound by a traditional schedule of "eat before going to work" "eat at work" "eat dinner when arriving home."

I had my coffee when I first got up, then around 10am I ate an entire American Flatbread Co. pizza (1100 calories). I didn't feel horribly full or anything. Went about my day, had my water, went for a run around 4, came back and did some yoga, then around 6 I was finally hungry again. So I had a little steak and a bunch of cauliflower (450 calories.) It was a good balance of carbs, protein and fats, all within my limits on Sparkpeople.

I was also able to stop eating after dinner (it took some muscling and Golum-like talking to myself at times but I did it!) and was finally able to stay within my calorie limit for the day (something I find difficult on "normal" days.)

Does anyone eat like this on a regular basis? I guess its like having a big brunch and then dinner (without the bloody marys.) I was never overly hungry or overly full. I'm wondering if I can incorporate this into my work days ("Hey guys, I'm going on my brunch break at 10am!")

I pretty much eat like that all the time... Since I incorporate intermittent fasting into my way of eating now... But I usually eat my two meals between 12pm and 8pm... which works for me... And I love it!

I too use intermittent fasting and on a normal day I eat 2 larger meals between 11am - 5pm with no snacking. On weekends I move my window to incorporate hanging out with friends and occasionally I may eat a small snack (fruits) and one large meal (when going out to eat).

It works great for my lifestyle and it keeps me full instead of looking at the clock for my next meal!

I eat when I am hungry and usually eat every 12 hours. Winds up being 7AM and 7PM. I've been doing this for about 2 months and I'm really enjoying it. It started out as an accident because a medication I'm on killed my appetite but I really liked not having to bother with lunch so I stuck to it.

So I'm trying it again today even though I'm at work and was having trouble figuring out 1000 calories to eat. I made some angel hair pasta with eggs mixed in but that was only 500. Maybe I need to start making carbonara sauce? I have lentil soup if I get hungry later.

Im home tomorrow, so I'll see how that goes.

I have been eating 2 meals a day with a snack if I'm hungry. I've been on IF, and it's so much easier for me than trying to make sure I get 3 meals, snacks, count the calories, etc. I have become a big advocate of do whatever works for you in terms of when you eat.

It definitely took me some time to adjust to... but I think a big part of that was because I always use to eat late and than I would keep picking and snacking late at night as well... so for me breaking that habit was something that I truly never thought would even be possible...

I do start to get pretty hungry towards the end of my "fasting" time... but it's usually very manageable... and I really look forward to my meals now, because I find them much more satisfying...

I try to make IF as flexible as possible... so even though I seem to naturally gravitate towards a 16/8 routine (16hrs fasting/8hr eating "window") sometimes I drop it down to 14/10 and occasionally I'll do a 24hr fast of 6pm to 6pm the next day because I'm just not that hungry and if I keep busy I don't even really notice...

Just another strategy really, that helps me to keep calories in check...

I don't purposely IF, but I do often eat 2x a day because that's the way my natural eating schedule works. I would encourage you not to feel obligated to eat a certain amount of calories for each meal, because IMHO, it is better to save those calories for when you are actually hungry. Obviously you want to eat meals that you will find filling, but don't add calories for the sake of adding calories... if you can be full eating your pasta w/ eggs, then I wouldn't add a calorie dense food just to have the extra calories. Does that make sense?

I eat like this on the weekends, when I'm not working out more heavily. I cut calories that way, because when I push it hard at the gym during the week, I get hungry!

I skip dinner. Most people opt to skip breakfast. I wonder why that is?

I have breakfast and a snack - have a really active job so i get hungry quick - and then lunch and dinner, i find when im at home doing nothing (which is rare) or on a charity day then i never eat more than breakfast and a small dinner, either coz im not hungry or im too busy to eat at the charity days.
I have noticed however that im not finishing portion sizes, i used to be able to polish off a large pizza on my own, now i can only manage at most 3 slices, so im starting to eat more frequetly. as your body adjusts im sure your eating patterns will too.

I generally eat two large meals a day just because my schedule dictates such.
I eat brunch and dinner. And an after dinner snack.

I don't keep "traditional hours", so I eat at very weird times but I also sleep at weird times.

I made it day 2! Big breakfast around 9am at work (just ate there, no one cares) then when I got home at 4 i was hungry, ate the rest of my calories for the day (1450 instead of the 1800-2200 i had been doing with 3 meals) and then went to a yoga class. I told myself if I was hungry when I got home I could have some chicken.

Came home at 8, not hungry and had some tea!

I just planned my meals for tomorrow, taking into account a possible girls night out. But 2 meals, at the lower end of my calorie range is still doable.

Sweet Mary, I may have solved my "hungry all the time and thinking about my next meal" problem!

I skip dinner. Small breakfast and the largest salad you have ever seen lunch. My window is 7am-1pm.

2 meals a day rules!

Plus beer.
