Question Day 5 of IP--> Dizziness. Suggestions?

Hi everyone. I am both new to 3 fat chicks on a diet and the Ideal Protein Diet. I'm on Day 5 and doing great. I haven't even had the temptation to cheat!

I have been feeling very tired and extremely dizzy. My coach suggested trying to take in more salt and water. But I am already adding salt to my water (just a bit) and some too my food.

I have been following the diet to a T. Will this dizziness and lightheadedness go away?

Thank you for any help!

I always encounter this and go right for a teaspoon of salt followed by a cup of water. This always does the job!

A teaspoon of salt seems like ALOT of salt to have all at once.

I have heard to try a sprinkle.

the protocol sheet says 1/2 teaspoon seasalt each day.

Yes - I just double-checked the Phase 1 protocol sheet from 06.12.12 (not sure if it's the most recent) and it says to add 1/2 tsp of sea salt per day. So when this used to happen to me re the dizziness, etc., I'd just sprinkle a little sea salt in the palm of my hand, lick it up, and then drink some water.

I felt that way on day 5 also. I started having dill pickles for one of my cups of vegetables and have felt great since. I think the carb/sugar withdrawls were the real cause for me not feeling right.

I bought a large jar of pickles today for the hubs and I. But I don't think one pickle equivelent to a cup of veggies. If so, I'm set!!

Default Pickles

I buy the Mt olive dills and 1.5 of them usually is a cup. Van Holtens sells the single packs and they are sometimes over a cup!

In my first week, I know I had some lightheadedness (sp?) due to low blood sugar. I ended up eating an extra packet that day, which the Dr told me was a good choice/permissible.

Not sure if that would be helpful in your situation.

Sounds like your blood pressure is low. Take the salt for sure and you may need the extra packet too.

The salt lick has always worked for me, and really quickly.

During the first week my coach also told me that if I get light headed/dizzy that it was ok to break off a little piece of a bar and eat only that little piece. I tried that and within 10 minutes I felt fine. He also said it was perfectly fine to have a 4th packet in the first few weeks. He would rather I had a 4th packet than a non-IP snack food Then as I moved on, I found that having my breakfast (shake) when I wake up and celery at 9:30 keeps me stabilized until lunch. And then I'm ok after that--my body wasn't used to the change in my morning breakfast routine.

I've noticed that when I don't eat, I get dizzy and get a headache.I'll have to try to remember the salt trick next time!
