Default Starch Away

I've been seeing ads in Redbook mag for something called Starch Away. They have a website that I looked at too, though haven't had the chance to really do any research.

The product claims that you eat 2 of their soft caramel-like chews just a few minutes before eating a meal that has lots of starch, such as pasta. They claim it blocks the calories from the starch or some such thing.

Anyone hear of this product, try this product or have any input?

Sounds like a carb blocker to me...

Check out these threads for general info on "carb blockers" (you can tell since I put the term in quotes...I don't give much credence to them!)

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. It does NOT work. These carb blockers are so stupid. Listen, eat whatever carbs you think you need, and go for a walk or run when you have time. That is the best carb blocker of all.

Anything that claims to block something sounds really suspicious to me. Even if these things did work, where do you think those blocked carbs would go? You'd be spending a lot of time on the potty!

Personally, my advice is don't buy anything you see advertised in a women's magazine.

A friend gave me some of this and I used this, it does something, if anything it made me more conscious of what I was eating...I think the best affect it had on me was psychological.

I only used it when I was eating sushi, not as a daily supplement.
