I know how you feel. I was looking to move to the west coast a few months back and found a company I really wanted to work for - or so I thought. I put in a resume, got a response within 24 hours, and tried to set up an interview. I was visiting my parents at the time so my cell phone couldn't receive signal. I told them literally about a dozen times to call my landline but they never did. They continually called my cell phone even after one woman supposedly jotted down the correct number.
Once I finally got an "interview" a month later, I was told that I'd have to fly to the west coast for an in-person interview without even knowing how much the position paid. So basically, I'd have to pay out the *** to travel 3000 miles at Christmas, at the last minute, for a position I may not be offered that may not cover living costs anyways.
I haven't called back.
So anyways, yeah, I agree, you dodged a bullet. When people can't get back to you like that, it's a sign of how the company as a whole is likely run - poorly!
