Happy Valentines Day!!! Hoping for a great WI today! My DH bought me some new clothes for today which was so sweet. Only thing he bought me the size I used to be and I need a size smaller. Huge accomplishment and I look forward to returning them for a smaller size!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to all. I stalled last week (water retention), so I didn't make my first goal of 25 pounds by Valentines Day, but 20 pounds in the first month is still fantastic.

Happy Thursday, and happy valentines day!!!

Starting my 2nd week of P2, still obsessing over P3! It is definitely a tough balance to make the breakfasts meet the guidelines - but I'm using LizRR as my guideline and just seeing what I can do with some of the recipe I have. I thought some of the Paleo recipes would be good for P3, but most are far too high in fat. I'm still playing around with stuff

Today will be a day of running around, have to go to the DMV (which will take up like HALF the morning), get laundry done, take care of some forgotten food shopping, and pick up party invitations for DS's 6th birthday in two weeks

Default Week 1, Day 2 = Hurting!

Good Morning, Everybody.

It is day 2 of IP for me. I'm not going to lie, I feel pretty horrible (headache, jittery, etc).

As I was quite miserable last night -- headache, extremely hungry, etc. -- I began to doubt that I am doing this right. Can someone reassure me?

Breakfast: EAS CarbControl RTD + vitamins

Lunch: EAS CarbControl RTD + 2 c. cucumbers w/ sea salt & apple cider vinegar

Dinner: 8oz chicken breast, roasted cauliflower, bit of brown mustard for dipping chicken, iceberg lettuce with 2 tsp olive oil (must find recipe for salad dressing!), vitamins

Snack: EAS CarbControl RTD (2 hours before bed)

It occurs to me that this was probably under 1,000 calories for the day. Is that what it is supposed to be?? Won't I go right into starvation mode?

If this is what the program requires (such few calories), I will do it and not complain any further . . . but I need reassurance that I am doing it right or the "mental games" will wreak havoc with me.

Thanks!

Morning All! I got a hug this morning from a friend I hadn't seen in a while and she mentioned how small I felt...great little Valentine's day NSV!

I have a question on Evening Primrose Oil. I had seen something on how beneficial it is for a number of things. I do already take Biotin, Omega 3, and B12 in addition to IP vitamins. Would it help me any to add in the Evening Primrose. More directed add Scorbett our vitamin guru

Hope everyone has a great OP day!

Happy Valentines everyone! I had my Thursday WI and I am down another 3 lbs. I have lost 21 in 6 weeks. This board (especially Scorbett) is what got me this far with the answers to every question, brilliant recipes & general inspiration. I have 38lbs to go and I dont think it will be easy but I can't deny it works.

This whole antibiotics thing has me really worried but I will take it as it comes.

Way to go A1Texan! Nice! Sylviesgirl, you can do this. You need to get through day 3 and it's worth it, you will actually feel good as opposed to just tolerating it.

Hang in there!!

YOU SEEM TO BE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT. IF YOU READ THROUGH THE THREADS, YOU WILL SEE THAT NEARLY EVERYONE FEELS THE WAY YOU ARE FEELING FOR THE FIRST 3-4 DAYS...THEN ONE MORNING YOU WAKE UP AND FEEL GREAT! (Oops, sorry about the caps!) Don't look at the calories, there is an explanation for the low calories having to do with the amount of calories that your body will provide by burning the stored fat. I'm not good at explaining it but just "trust the process" as everyone will tell you. Follow the guidelines and you will lose! This program rocks!!!

Today was my WI and I am down another 1.8!!! Yay! Slowly but surely it is all coming off! If I can lose 1.8 next week, then I will have reached my 2nd mini goal of 25 lbs total!

SIL invited me to go snowshoeing on Sat...I said yes, thinking about how to be prepared with food, space bags, etc...then I realized that I don't have any snow gear...no long johns, gloves (other than work gloves) ski pants...my winter coat is a huge leather one with fur lining it! Uhoh! I used to be into snowmobiling but I got rid of all my gear when I outgrew it! Plus I am not a winter person...not sure what to do...hmmm

SylviesGirl,
The first 5days or so are the hardest. Your body is going through carb withdrawal. Trust me/us, it will get better!! I noticed you did not include a restricted item. One of your 3 IP/ alternative foods should be a restricted item. Try replacing the lunch RTD with a bar. I use Pure Protein choc/peanut bars. Also, you can add a salad in the afternoon, in between lunch and dinner. You can also use some of your dinner protein for lunch. Just subtract it from your nighttime meal. If you are really hungry, you can have 2 egg whites sprinkled with sea salt. Dill pickles are also a lifesaver ! Good luck! Come here for support and always ask your questions here in the daily thread. This is where you'll get the best info and the fastest response. Drink your water!!! You can do this!

Thumbs up

Okay, thanks, gals. . . I can't tell you how much your reassurance means.

It says on the Phase 1 protocol sheet to not have restricteds for the first couple of weeks, but I see by looking around here that many people do and have no problem. I just might have to do that.

As long as I know that I am not doing something wrong, I will do whatever I have to do and tough it out. I NEED to do this. My son is 12 y/o . . . growing up so fast . . . and I am missing so much of it by being so heavy. This summer will be different!

Thanks so much --

SylviesGirl,
Make sure you have the latest version of the Phase 1 sheet. It clearly states that you can have 1 restricted item per day! This is the way the plan was written! Go to the stickies at the top of the IP Forum page and search for it. You are doing this for all the right reasons and you won't be disappointed by the time summer gets here!! You are in the right frame of mind to start this diet and I know you will be successful! Go for it!!!
