Default Tell me about your scale....

My scale is really trying to be my friend. It tells me wicked low weights and often times it will try to tell me different weights in the morning to try to please me. ::sigh::

So I think it's time for a new scale. I get paid on Friday and will be picking up a new one, hopefully one that is insanely accurate and will match the one at the center.

Any recommendations? Do you like your scale? How often do you weigh?

P.S. If I looked like the woman in the picture- I probably wouldn't use a scale anymore.

What a coincidence. My scale conked out the other day. I've bought like three scales in four years. I am tired of buying scales. lol

I just want one that's accurate...although this one is puuurrttyyyy.....
http://www.target.com/p/taylor-digit...e/-/A-13951450

I weigh daily so that I can keep myself on track and see what's going (how I react to different foods, TOM, ect.) If I weighed in once a week, I probably wouldn't care so much about accuracy, as I would consistency.

I have a Biggest Loser scale - the kind that supposedly tells you the percentage of fat. I don't have a lot of faith in a cheap(ish) bathroom scale really doing that but it seems reasonably accurate as far as weight goes. I can weigh myself, then weigh myself holding a hand weight, and then re-weight and I will get the same thing the first and third times.

I think I got it a Kohls - somewhere with a coupon, anyway! lol!

I have a taylor scale (not the cool bamboo one, but glass) that I picked up a couple years ago for 40 bucks I think. I like it, its consistent and I assume its accurate...

I have this one

http://www.amazon.com/Jarden-Home-En...o+meter+scales

It does weight/body fat/bone density/water (supposedly) whether all of thats accurate...I don't know? I like that it save 4 users info, that it takes in height and you can set a goal on it, up or down. Like hubs wanted to decrease his body fat but increase muscle, and it's tracked it for him. He's got like 15% bf according to that thing. But he did lose weight while decreasing his body fat and it let him know, he needs to gain x amount of weight to be at goal. I also like that for me, I can save my weight every Monday and it will give me a weekly/daily/monthly +/- on what I've accomplished. Depending on what I tell it to save.

I went through THREE scales before I founded the one I listed above. It had, by far, the best reviews on amazon and several other forums. I've been using it for several months now and I LOVE it. It is wickedly consistent, (even when I dont want it to be) and has a tap to recalibrate option which I use all the time if it ever gets moved accidently. I'm glad I found this one...those others were about to drive me insane.

I just use the weight watchers brand scale I bought at Target and find that it is accurate and it works for me!

Speaking about accuracy of scales. I have a 8 year old scale - Tanita Ironman that tells me my body fat, etc and can record 4 people. While it can bounce around a quarter to a half pound, it's pretty consistent and it matches perfectly with the doctor's scale and with the fancy tanita scale and the bodpod scale at the gym.

What I find most interesting is that they body fat percentage thingee seems to be pretty accurate for me too. I follow the suggestions on how to use it and it is the same body fat percentage as I get on the fancy Tanita at the gym AND it's what the bodpod test gave me too.

HOWEVER, it is insanely inaccurate for bf percentage for my husband. My husband is just under 6'1" and weighs 180. He does lift weight with me (in a class), and he's fit, but he's not super duper fit, but our scale says he las like 6% body fat and we BOTH know that can't be true.

So, how can it be spot on for me and way off for him when we both follow the recommendations on how to use it? THAT is the most puzzling to me!

I also have the eatsmart scale, but I have the old version here - http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Preci...at+smart+scale

I LOVE it. I've had it for 4 years. It's super accurate, less than 30 dollars, and has thousands of good reviews. I'm going to get their food scale for my kitchen soon, too!

The Eat Smart scale was the first scale I looked at. -_- I might just have to put my patience pants on and wait for it to arrive.

Lunar I've been looking for a new scale as well. Mine seems to bounce around a lot too which is aggravating. I think I'll order this scale you're looking at also. I have the food scale by EatSmart and love it. So hopefully this one will be just as good!

When I bought my scale, my primary concern was that it could handle my weight, so I bought it on ebay solely by virtue of it's 500 pound limit. It has a ll the body fat and storage options, but I've never played with it.

I think it's fairly accurate - I know the doctor's scale tells me I'm between 5 and 8 pounds more, but I think that's because it's manual and the nurse isn't balancing it right. Either way, it never gives me really whacky numbers.

This is what I have
