Default pinto beans are good for the heart...

I will not finish the song my kids sing!

Do you always do beans with your meal? Sometimes I don't have beans that blend well with my meal...yes, I need to meal plan better.

What about some days having a serving as your snack? Would you eat something with them or by themselves?

I love beans, with meals, as a snack, you name it. I usually have chickpea crunchies around, sometimes lentil crunchies, hummus, homemade refried beans. Then I've got black beans, cannelini beans, navy beans, and chick peas in the freezer ready for anything. Oh, and bean cakes too! I always tell people that beans are the secret to my weight loss - filling and fiber filled goodness

And as I wrote in another thread today, I ate them for breakfast. I had them that way for almost a year before I got off that kick.

We have a whole thread with variations. My new faves are buffalo ranch. The lentil crunchies are great too.

so it is ok if you don't have them with your meal to have them as a snack to get them in. I like them but sometimes don't care for them with my meal but love homemade refried beans or black beans as a snack

Beans are not required (I think), just recommended and you can eat them wherever they fit in your meal plan
