Default Yoohoo, Elvislover...

I'm praying for you. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself in Nichole's post. I really really REALLY hope that you can have a baby this year!

I was going to send you a PM, but then I thought other people might want to drop their well wishes in here too.

Have you been doing all the stuff I have been reading about for fertility? (Acupuncture, massage, yoga, lunaception, chiropractors?)

Awww ty so much, lunarsongbird. Your post made me cry.

It's been a long 6 months, it feels like it's been years I have been dealing with this!!

I hope we can have a baby this year too, that's the whole reason for my avatar that "2013 will be my year". I HATED 2012 for obvious reasons.

None of the traditional infertility methods will work, the cancer tissue is so built up that if I can't get rid of that, I will never ever get pregnant. I have a fertility specialist on standby if I get the go.

I am on a progestin that is trying to counteract the estrogen. I take it 4x a day (the max dose an oncologist will prescribe). I had a d&c in November (this is how they check the status of the tissue, they can't really do a traditional biopsy on the tumors in this case) and the cancer was still there but improved. So my doctor said I can try for 3 more months on the meds and then it's game time. It's too risky to wait any longer if the meds don't work this time.

Anyone who can send me their positive vibes and good thoughts would be most appreciated. I have already put in my miracle requests and am hoping my dreams come true.

I didn't mean to put so much info here or in the other post, but if we don't spread the info to other ladies, who will? I never even knew what endometrial cancer was until I got diagnosed. Less than 5% of women under 50 get it (thank God) but that just makes it harder for women like me to find other women trying to get pregnant and other statistical info.

You are so sweet to start this thread. Thank you.

I can't think of many other things that would be so devestating to me...infertility and the "c" word... ::sigh::

Andrew and I aren't going to try to conceive until 2013, but I've been consuming fertility/pregnany books like there is no tomorrow. I think it's fascinating. I've wondered about becoming a doula.

It would make me really really happy to have you come in here soon to tell us about a BFP.

Have you tried accupuncture and chiropractors yet?

It is 2013, silly girl!! Did you mean 2014?? I had to put the pregnancy books away, they are too sad for me right now. And when I first got diagnosed, I couldn't get away from pregnant women and babies it seemed! Going to my ob/gyn's office seemed like someone's idea of a sick joke, it was awful.

At this point I am just doing the progestin. One of the side effects is weight gain. I got 3 opinions from oncologists when I was first diagnosed (I wanted to believe there was some kind of bad mistake and that it wasn't me that had cancer, it was someone else). Each oncologist recommended this medicine and said it was imperative that I not gain 1 more pound even though I would probably have trouble losing weight.

Let me tell you the shock when my oncologist saw me last (at that point I was down just about 60lbs)! She couldn't believe the progress I made with my nutrition doctor and nurse. She said I am her model patient and she tells everyone about me. I am hoping my pregnancy story goes into the next chapter of her (and my!) story.

I should be down right about 100lbs when I see her in a few weeks, I can't wait.

Wow! I bet your doctor was so proud of you! That's outstanding! 100 pounds down must at least help with TTC. ::fingers crossed::

Yup- I totally meant 2014. I have no idea what my fertility will be like. I had an ovarian tumor removed and then gained those 75 pounds. My DH isn't ready yet- so this year weight loss and wellness gives me something to focus on- and doing everything I can to increase my chances of being fertile.

Elvislover,

I am so terribly sorry to hear about this. I don't even know you and my heart strings are pulled. There are probably no words that would help whats going on, but I'll pray for you and keep you in my thoughts. I've always been religious (but maybe the black sheep of the fam, haha) but I've gotten so much closer to God over the part few years as tragedies, sickness and accidents have occured in my family. Having faith and hope is so important.

Thank you so much for sharing and being compassionate with all your posts. You've answered my concerns and I will do my best to help with yours.

My mother was in a similiar situation.. and to top it off my dad had a reverse visectomy, but here I am. I'm a miracle baby.

It is more than possible.
And I'l keep praying.

I will keep you in my prayers, lots of babydust for you when you are ready!

So sorry you had an ovarian tumor, that must have been so scary for you.

My weightloss has kept me sain for the last few months, even though that doesn't even make sense! I can't control my cancer but I can control what I eat. And I was so afraid to eat myself to death being sad about the cancer.

I'm so afraid of the weight gain people say will happen with the hysterectomy and I can't do any type of hormone replacement due to the estrogen dependence I already have. But I figure, one step at a time. And I plan to stay with my nutritionist through my (fingers crossed!!) pregnancy and/or hysterectomy. I have come too far now to turn back and I can't, I feel so healthy and alive (contrary to what my medical reports tell me). I just wish I knew that I could have went to a medically supervised food plan years ago, it never occurred to me. And I avoided the doctors like the plague as I was too embarrassed to get weighed. I created my own fate and now the piper is collecting his due.

Thank you Remington!! I have found God too and it's changed my whole life. I try to keep it more private as people think I am some kind of crazy holy person but it's so not like that.

A miracle baby! I knew there was something special about you, I just didn't know what.

We all have our struggles and tough times but being compassionate is free. I treat people how I want to be treated and try so hard to put myself in their shoes when I post. We can all learn from each other and knowledge is power!

Thanks so much for posting here on this thread. This forum is so wonderful. Warms my heart like you will never know.

Exactly.

I'm not sure if it's a poem or how to describe it. But footprints is so moving. I have a wallet card with it. It in itself is motivating. Makes me cry every time. Its so weird, I always pull that card out or "find" it, when I most need to. He's always watching and listening.

You WILL get through this.

You are so right, Remington. And I love that poem/prayer too.

I have put everything in God's hands and asked Him to guide me where I am supposed to go. I keep trying to guide Him my way but He knows I am like that.

Thank you, April Snow. I need all the prayers I can get.

And if my story helps one woman look twice at her period problems, it will be worth it. Endometrial cancer has no alarming symptoms unless you have already gone through menopause (as any bleeding is abnormal, even a drop). To a normal young woman, an irregular period could be for so many reasons! No one ever thinks cancer...

It seems I missed your earlier post but have pieced enough of your story together here to know you need my prayers, so they will be coming at you. A positive outlook is a hard to maintain under such dire circumstances, so I have to tell you how much I admire you for that. Keep you chin up and keep us posted. You are doing a great service by spreading the word. I'll be passing this on to my daughter and other young women in my family and circle of friends.

Lin
