I need to vent something fierce!!!!!!

I hit a new low this week (216) well I decided to start exercising that day as well to help me meet my march goal. Well in the last 4 days the scale has gone up four pounds!!!! Four effing pounds in four days!!!! I'm pissed! I'm beyond pissed! Why am I being punished and why is the scale going up instead of down?????

I noticed when I started exercising that I started to weigh a bit more. It's just your muscles retaliating and holding water. It'll break

Don't panic!! The scale ALWAYS goes up when you start exercising, it will go back down. It's not fat so don't fret. Keep going.

My scale jumped up 4 pounds too when I started so I know the feeling.

Hang in there Mozzy! I only do gentle exercise so I have not experienced it but I bet owlstea and novaNgel are right. It'll even out. It's a marathon. It's a war. Long term you are winning.

I understand and appreciate the frustration!!! It happens to be every time, without fail. Water weight! It'll come off. Hang in there. You're rocking it!

you hit a low this week, checked the scale this week, all of this happened within the week?
check 1-2 weeks after. and you know after you weight train theres lactic acid build up.. it added 2-3lbs onto the scale for me.

You're exercising. Your body is going "OMG WTF" and holding onto water like there is going to be a drought tomorrow. Once it get used to the exercise it will stop the freakout

Drink plenty of water in the meantime!

Just to echo what's been already said, people usually retain water after their muscles have been used in novel ways (cardio or weight training). It's your body trying to prepare for a possible emergency situation. It will go back down.
