Mini-goal reward
So I reached my mini goal of 30lbs by Christmas! I was so happy that went out and bought two pairs of SHOES!
What you have all done for yourselves?

I have done that usually after 10 pounds. It might be earrings, perfume, candles ,flowers ,houseplants anything but food.

Hi Bargoo, I see your ticker and wanted to congratulate you on your success! I like your idea of a reward for smaller increments. I think I will start doing that for the last 20 lbs.
Yes, anything but food. Unless, it's a nice filet!

I have been rewarding every 10 lbs with an Alex & Ani bracelet. It helps to be able to SEE how far I've come whenever I look at my wrist!

So far my plans have been a bust. I can't get the rings I want, because my fingers are getting smaller. (Etsy and Silpada)
Can't get boots because my calves are still too big. (And all the ones I want are out of stock.) Currently wanting the cutest Uggs and I hate Uggs!!
Clothes..................well we all know how that goes right now. I did get 2 tops at at consignment shop near my clinic. (But I really need better bras)
The pocketbook I am lusting after is also out of stock except on Ebay.
We'll see what happens after the New Year.

Ninja nurse- a few months ago there was a discussion about herroom.com. It is a lingerie website that has a very thorough set of questions about your shape and then it makes recommendation for what to look for in a bra. I had to answer the questions while looking in the mirror because I honestly had never noticed the types of details they asked. I ended up buying a completely different type of bra than I have ever worn in a size that I have never worn. It fits perfectly and I'm so happy to understand why I've been so uncomfortable all these years.

Thank you! Fishette!! I will look into it. There is a very good bra store not too far from me, in RI, but it would be nice to use the info and see if I can get less expensive ones for the time being!!

There's actually one in Dartmouth too - Fabulous Foundations, they do a pretty thorough measurement for you. I've always had to get *special* bras, spent many years being well endowed with a short torso and a small back

Awww, that's so sweet. I will echo what someone else said and thank you for giving an unfortunate animal a happy home. I love cats, too, but we are now at 2 rescue dogs, 2 rabbits, and 1 parakeet...there is no more room at the inn right now! The rabbits and parakeet were giveaways from people that were ready to not have them anymore.
As for rewards, at 25 lbs I got myself 2 new pairs of boots
At (almost) 40 lbs (and for Christmas), I got myself a new haircut!
Scorbett...I love your bracelet idea! I have a Pandora bracelet that I love, and could buy myself a bead for every 10 lbs or so.

Those are great shoes!
Haven't done any rewards yet, but I really like the idea of a charm bracelet with a charm for every 10 pounds! What a great idea. I guess I owe myself two charms!

I went to buy cat food and of course had to look at the cats, there was a beauty that I was interested in but her tag said she didn't like other cats...I have 2 already, one I got as a kitten and the other was a shelter rescue that is fairly timid, so no go on that one. We bought some toys to put in the cat stockings at the shelter and I didn't make it past the first cage!! She was so sweet and just gorgeous! She is an 8 year old lynx point siamese with a partially blind eye...she was hurt and the people didn't want to deal with her injury....thanks to them because she belongs with us!!! She doesn't get to come home until Thursday because they aren't sure if she has been spayed and the vet won't be in until Wednesday, but she will be a wonderful late Christmas gift to our family!
