Default DECEMBER Feather's Chat!

Continuing on from here; http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/feat...s-chat-20.html

I know I say this every month, but I can't believe it's December already! How does everyone feel? Goals? Plans?

Joss...I love the idea of setting goals and writing them down AGAIN! I honestly feel it keeps me in check and more accountable. December is a very busy time of year for me, so it will be that much harder to stay OP.

Weighed in at 116.0 this morning. I wish I was seeing better results on the scale, but...
I love how my best weigh-ins have been on Saturday...after wine! Yay for dehydration!

My goals for December:

-Eat clean.
-Wine only on the weekends.
-Don't miss any workouts.
-Lose 2 pounds by Dec 24th.

Joss I agree with you. I can't believe a year has gone by since last December.

Blaaaah. I've been wavering. I can't shake this apathy... I'll do well for most of the day and then suddenly it's like "Yeah, but... I don't care!"

But December is a fresh month, and I am really sick of the way this rut is making me feel. I plan to totally change my attitude this month.

Yay December!
Thanks for the thread, Joss.

Well, as you all know, how I feel is pretty darn good. Haha.

My goals for this month:
-Continue appreciating my body and not stressing about getting any smaller, just striving for health and fitness!
-Stay in my range of 100-120 the whole month (secretly hoping I'll see close to 110 before leaving next week though, even if it is just water, hehe)
-For the next week, I'm hitting the gym every day and not overindulging at dinner,
-And then during my trip, try to keep up exercising at least 4 days a week and try very hard eating very moderately (80% rule maybe?) especially at dinner, shooting for only one day a week of eating with abandon! I think it may be a challenge having my eating routine thrown so completely off in terms of timing of meals and type of food, so I just need to be careful to stick with a relaxed mindset and not freak out and either get anal about what I eat OR go crazy and binge every day.

Yep, I think that's me for the month! (:

Thanx for starting this new thread, Joss! Did you see my red & green tilapia fillets? Aren't they hilarious??? LOL

Bayzee, those are great goals, and the best is that they are totally acheivable! We tend to get lost most of the time in over the world goals during our weight loss...

TheBunneh : As you said, December is a fresh month, and maybe Christmas coming will be an extra motivation for all of us this month! (well, let's hope, it's that or we will jump in the sweet treats that Christmas usually bring so... Let's stay positive )

Mottaini : At think we posted around the same time! Great goals!!!
***

Hola feathers!

Nothing much to report, weight sticked to 136.4 this morning, which I'm happy about. Last night, while we were having a ''playing video games all night and not being ashamed of it'' night with the boyfriend, I soooo wanted to eat chips. Well, something salty. I went instead for wholewheat crackers and some of my homemade hummus. It luckily calmed the craving.

This weekend will be dedicated to putting together the Christmas tree, buying some Christmas decorations and going to spend hundreds of dollars buying a new set of winter tires. We are so lame, we were supposed to put them on our cars weeks ago (it's kind of a law here...), but we did not, and snow arrived, and yesterday my boyfriend had to go to work walking because he wasn't able to get out of the driveway, that is really steep and icy. Only hope I can make it with my car tomorrow to my appointment LOL

GOD IT'S ALREADY DECEMBER

Goals :

- Stay on plan the best I can, especially during the weekdays until December 21th. I have really no excuse for binging during the weekdays, as if you do have some Christmas party to attend, they'll be during the weekends. It's however not an excuse to eat like the world will end during the weekends though.. (TAKE THAT, MAYAS)

- Keep only small portions of Christmas treats in the fridge (my Christmas baking will get intense soon, I'll have to be careful)

- Go walk Mont Bellevue at least once a week

- Do my kinda-like little Crossfit routine twice a week

- Abs routine everyday except the Crossfit routine days

- Try to be under 135 before Christmas

Hey ladies

I don't really post in the chat topics because anytime I check it, always so many updates I can't believe it is December already. The year has gone really fast.

My main goal for December is to be into the 120s before 2013 hits. Other goals include to not over indulge during Christmas and keep exercising.

I just want to let you know that I am a Christmas freak, my mind get into a 4 years old mode when it comes to Holidays. I'm probably gonna be talking about Christmas all the freacking time. Brace yourself, Feathers :P

Right now, with the 3 coffee I drank, I feel pretty much like that. I already transformed my fridge in a Snowman with some colored papers. Gotta love the ''it's ... cute, sweetie'' face of my boyfriend when he saw it!

Bayzee - hahaha, I've never weighed after a night of drinking, but I most definitely wake up looking leaner a lot of times! Your goals for the month sound pretty reasonable and I'm sure you'll do great!

TheBunneh - It's hard to shake it sometimes when we get into those funks but if anything is going to help kickstart you a new month might do it! What is your plan to help you get back on track?

Mottainai - AWESOME goals chicka... those sound very reasonable! I am wondering if that was a typo when you said between 100-120 pounds? Did you mean 110-120? LOL a 20 pound range in one month seems pretty big but hey, to each her own!

Turbo - Yes, I loved the picture! haha those are hilarious, and more importantly I'm glad they turned out yummy for you!

Your goals sound great too. I might be a bit nutty about it, but I've already picked out my 'treat meals' for the month and don't plan to deviate from that plan. Would you be able to do something similar to help you navigate all the holiday parties/baking/goodies a bit better?

It sounds like you have a great weekend planned; putting tires on the car isn't fun, but I know I always feel better when I get things done rather than putting them off. I *could* be out shopping with my girlfriends today but I really needed to get the house cleaned and do laundry. Besides, I already spent so much on Christmas (ok, ok, myself...) that I can't really justify buying another holiday dress. I haven't even gotten the one I ordered in the mail yet!

I'm also a total Holiday Freak so no worries, I'll be talking about it non-stop too!

Dreamer - You don't have to completely catch up to post... just say hi and let us know how you're doing! Good luck meeting your goals for this month, we'll all be rooting for you!

I just got back on track today after a 3 day binge fest... As you might imagine, I feel like crap! BUT I picked myself up this morning and went to the gym. I will not be stepping on the scale until at least Thursday...

My goals for December:

1) Try to keep up with this thread! Y'all are so motivating, but it moves so quickly. I'm really going to try to check in everyday.

2) I want to hit the gym 5 days a week in December.

3) Stay OP except for the 25th and 26th.

4) I would love to see 129 by January.

Hello Feathers! I usually just post under the 20 somethings threads but I love reading all of your post for motivation/inspiration. I have been roughly the same weight all summer and fall. Seeing a beautiful low of 146.8 this summer but continuing to hang out more at 151/152. I really want to weight 140, at night! I have been trying and trying to reach this goal but often let my dedication slip for weeks at a time. I am in a full-time master's program and have not been working out like I once was, I usually do well with calories and eating whole foods. This December will be different my semesters almost over, I have just over 4 weeks of a break, and it doesn't look like I'll be getting many hours at work. Sounds like it is time to get back in the gym weight training and getting these last pounds off! I think the near constant activity on this thread will help keep me more accountable.
Goals for this month include:
Weight lifting 3-4 days a week
cardio-biking/elliptical/treadmill 2-3 days a week
yoga 2 days a week
I plan to keep my calories between 1500-1700 a day

I realize I just wrote a book, and could have put this in the intro section but ya know... You ladies are all doing wonderful and I'm excited to chat with you this month!

Nope, not a typo. (; I just thought I'd give myself the freedom to keep losing if I can but also be officially okay even if I gain back a bit on vacation, especially since I'd guess I'll be seeing higher numbers in general from more regular carbs than usual. I'm thinking of the 20-pound range as more of a "life range," not expecting to go throughout the whole thing in a month, lol.

Haaaaay Feathers!

I am PLEASED to let you know I weighed in at 125.0 after a nice long workout this morning. Feels good man. My back is almost all better and returning to lifting felt amazing. Food has been pretty sensible too despite both meals being out - egg/ham/cheese/veggie breakfast sandwich on an English muffin at a local coffee shop, pork loin with baked apples and sides of carrots and green beans at Cracker Barrel.

After the gym today I went to an artisan fair and got some incredible smelling soaps, mushroom coasters for my bf's sister, and some really funny stories from last night - I had intended to go out dancing but fell asleep at 9 PM, sounds like I missed a good time but it was nice to wake up truly rested at 9:00 sans hangover - and tonight we'll be going to karaoke so it's not like I missed my only chance to be social. Tomorrow is the "Victorian Stroll" here and instead of spending the day drinking with friends, I offered to work a shift at an independently owned bakery. Extra money!

Domlacha Welcome to the Featherweights subforum! I hope you start posting regularly. It's pretty awesome that you've maintained your loss for the entire summer/fall - the last few pounds are hard to get off but it sounds like you have a good plan!

OhThePlaces Welcome back. This time of year is sooo hard in terms of eating right.

TurboMammoth OH GOSH I LOVE CHRISTMAS TOO, it's overwhelming sometimes. My roommate and I are having a Christmas party for my birthday party this year since my bday is Christmas Eve, and we are also playing Christmas music at an open mic in a couple weeks (we gotta get practicing...) - I never know what to do with myself once Christmas is over.

Dreamer2012 It is hard to keep up here, good thing I have no life

mottainai HOORAY for feeling good, I gotta say I wish I had your metabolism :P

TheBunneh It's hard to care when you're a Featherweight. What is it that makes you feel bad about not losing weight?

Bayzee Way to go on 116.0! You're shrinking for sure. What is your wine of choice? I never liked red wine until seriously like 2 months ago. It's like my palate flipped and got suddenly grossed out by cheap white wine.

JossFit What meals are you going to have?!?! I think I am opposite most people in that I often prefer to not read menus or anything in advance. I like the surprise and the pressure to make a decision on the spot.

Krampus - Your birthday is on Christmas Eve? Thats so neat! I can see how you'd be in love with the holidays.
Thats also pretty badass that you are dropping back down to your happy weight and that your back is feeling better. I'm super sore today and just took some muscle relaxers so I have a feeling it's going to be an early night for me! haha

Oh, I'm attaching some pictures for you, since I promised I would. Nothing super fun, but I still had to make the effort for everyone and especially you who said they missed my food porn.

There is a picture of my 'Breakfast carrot cake', both before and then after with some chunky granola peanut butter on top.
There is also a picture of a chicken caesar salad with crostini, a picture of some tilapia and mixed veggies (zuchinni, onion, eggplant) and a picture of my pumpkin mousse! It's ugly, but dang is it ever delicious, especially with the chunks of Trader Joes Cookie Butter I have in there.

There is one more picture of an omlette I made with lots of tomato, cheddar cheese and avocado on top. Nom nom nom!

I'll have a some more for tomorrow; bacon pancake and pumpkin fettucini perhaps?

OhThePlaces - Don't worry about keeping up, mostly we're just bull$hitting about silly things... just keep saying hi!

Domlacha - Welcome! A 4 week break is an awesome time to try to make some strides in your fitness goals. I'm not on a work/school break or anything, but I am getting 4 weeks 'break' between vacations and traveling so I'm really trying to buckle down and lose a few recently added pounds before Christmas. I think we're all in the same boat for the most part right now! Keep coming in and getting to know us!

... we don't bite... haha

Mottainai - LOL, well a 'life range' sounds perfectly good to me! Honestly, a 20 pound range for life sounds really realistic too. I think too many of us get to a certain weight and say "that's it, I'll never deviate by more than 5 pounds!" and it's really really easy to gain more than that... haha.

This is my neato foot brace I have been sleeping in lately. I bet you can see why the last 3 nights I have taken it off in my sleep... it's not super comfortable!
