Do you mean medifast weight loss clinic? If so, I think they are similiar programs. There are threads on 3FC for medifast.
Ideal Protein is a restrictive diet. It is high protein, low cal, carb, fat and sugar. The diet is basically 3IP products a day (shakes, pudding, protein bars, soups, etc), and then lettuce, veggies and lean proteins.
Cost is about $90/week if you go to an IP clinic.
From my experience, it is the only diet I have been able to successfully follow in about 7 years. I've tried weight watchers, Seattle Sutton, LA Weightloss, Atkins, and just plain old counting calories.
Once I got past the carb withdrawal in the first 2-3 days of IP, I don't crave sugar or carbs. I still have to make the choice not to cheat, but it is not that difficult.
IP is not a diet you can cheat on. If you want to be sucessful on it, you need to stick to it.
Good luck on whatever you decide!
