Lightbulb Colonic question!

Hello!

This question might seem a bit icky but going to ask it anyway ...

Has anyone ever had a colonic? I'm considering having one because I like to idea of being able to 'flush' out my system. The question I'm really interested in finding an answer for though is if they can help you to lose any weight?

Lmk!

Thanks

From what I understand, our bodies are natural cleansers and we don't need things like colonics. But if you are having issues with constipation, I'd suggest a tea like get moving, or miralax to help move things along. I can't imagine a colonic being healthy, but I suppose I could be wrong.

It won't help you lose weight, and it is sheer quackery.

Remember that we flush out all the good bacteria also when we do something like this. It's take a long time to get things back in balance and in that time you just add more the build up ....

Thanks a lot for your answers
They seem to cost a lot anyway, so maybe I won't be going for one after all!

Flushes and cleanses are popular, because it's easy to convince people that their bodies, inside and out, are dirty and unclean in their natural state.

Ironically, we're buying products and paying people to strip our bodies of their natural "good" bacteria, and then we buy products and pay people to give us the good bacteria back in the form of (often) expensive probiotic foods and supplements, which we wouldn't have needed if we'd left our bodies to function normally.

For some reason I tend towards lots of "trendy" things... I don't know... Maybe it's because I grew up in Manhattan, who knows...? Anyway... When colonics were all the rage several years ago and all my friends were raving about them I promptly went out and had one.... Well trust me... It was a complete waste (sorry about the bad pun, but I'm leaving it )

To the person here who called it complete quackery... I couldn't agree more... Thankfully I didn't do any serious damage... because I've heard some real horror stories...

Oh, and by the way they DO NOT help with weight loss AT ALL...

Trust me... Don't WASTE your money...
