Default Hello, I'm new to the forum and to IP

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. I just started IP this past Tuesday after witnessing my friend lose a lot of weight very quickly. I'm so excited and can't wait to get on with this journey.

A little about me: I'm 35 and 5'2". I used to be stick thin until I got a job sitting in an office all day. Over the past 3 years, I have gained about 60 lbs. I am now 166 lbs and my knees are starting to hurt. I've tried Nutrisystem but couldn't stick with it. (food was gross) My vices are fried, salty and spicy foods and CARBS, lots of carbs

My goal is to get down to my pre-desk jockey weight of 110-115 lbs in 6 months. I hope this is realistic.

So far, I am starving, dizzy and have no energy but I hear it will pass after week 2. My first weigh-in is this coming Saturday.

Again, I'm very excited because this un-diet really seems to work for a lot of folks here.

I love reading everyone's success stories and I hope to share mine too.

I've started 12 days ago and I am so happy that I found this diet as well as this forum! Diet works great and this forum is so supportive and it is very encouraging seeing everyone's weight loss successes.

Welcome and I am looking forward to reading about your successes too.

Congratulations on starting the last diet of your life! It took me about 6 days to get over the carb withdrawal, but when I did, I felt AWESOME...and still do!

Make sure you read through the newbie threads/stickies and ask questions!

COngrats! I am new this week as well. I had a rough day 3and today is day 4. I awoke with a headache and shakes again. Everyone here tells me that it will get better and I trust them. I am so awestruck by everyone's weight loss here and it keeps me going. The one piece of advice....stay on this site! I have relied on this site and these people who are THE BEST to get me through and they don't know it but they actually help me make my decision to do IP

One day at a time ALM2000! Make sure you are getting in all of your veggies and don't forget the salt.. If you are starving, try breaking up your veggie allotment throughout the day. You can also eat some of your 8oz of protein at lunch and then decrease the amt. you have for dinner. Use lettuce as a filler and munch on a pickle or two! Check in with the daily chat for questions. That's where the experts are and they will answer your questions faster than anyone!! Welcome to this forum and to the last diet you will ever need! This group is amazing!

Welcome! The hard part is the first few days, but don't give up. It is so worth it.

I can't tell you how many diet programs I have tried and couldn't stick to. IP has made it so easy for me to lose weight.

My one piece of advice is DON'T CHEAT. My coach said that, but didnt really explain it. It was on the IP threads here that I found out why. There are a lot of people who cheat and then have a really hard time getting back on plan. They keep cheating and each time it sets them back on weight loss. Just remember when you are tempted that you can eat those things when you are done losing the weight.

Getting to your goal weight in 6 months should be no problem as long as you stay 100% on protocol.

Congrats! It's great to see the level of knowledge and support on these forums. I'm new too (starting IP on Monday 10/8/12). Checking out all of the IP Recipe and FAQ threads is really helpful for ideas. I'm still nervous about starting, but I feel more prepared after reading through so much info here.

You are all an inspiration to me.

Since I am going to be out of town for the next week and a half, I went to my weigh-in yesterday (day 4.5). Here are my results:

START: 166.20
@ WEIGH IN: 163.00
LOST: 3.2 lbs

NECK MEASUREMENT: - .5 inch
UNDERARM MEASUREMENT: - 1 inch
WAIST MEASUREMENT: - .75 inch

BTW, my breath smells funky like everyone else reports. I have been told it smells like moldy fruit.

Next weigh in is Oct 20. Can't "weight" until then!!!
