I could chuck my scale across the room this morning!!
Hopped on the scale this morning for my daily weigh-in, and saw 179.5! Excited, I hopped on it again for confirmation and I was back up to 181, only to have it STAY THERE for a 3rd confirmation. I got on it like 5 times and nope, right back to 181 it went. Why on earth would it tease me like that?!?!
I guess I can take it positively; this probably means that I'm gonna be seeing the 170s very very soon.

I could chuck my sale because it was up this morning. I know it is water weight but does not make me feel better. Still want to heave it out the window.

You're in good company; mine did that to me this morning too. I decided I wasn't going to let it bug me. We just need to relax and trust that we're doing the right things to get us to our goals. It'll happen when it happens.

Ha ha ha. I think we've all been there, done that before! I only weigh once a week for this very reason so I'm not obsessive about it. I weigh 3 times in succession and ALWAYS choose the lowest weight even if it's drastically lower. I don't know why but it makes me feel sooooo much thinner and motivates me to be really great during the week. Like this week, it said 247, then 248.2, and 251.2. I went with 247.
I think there could be an issue with digital scales too. Is yours digital?

Mine has pulled that crap before. I always make it a point to weight myself at least 3 times back to back just to make sure I am getting an accurate number. I should probably invest in another one soon, I've had my current one since late 2009 but it is definitely still accurate!

Mine does that too. I got an el cheapo from bed bath and beyond and it works better and more consistently than my fancypants one ever did.

Oooooooo that makes me so mad when that happens.
I'll go out and tell my husband "well the 1st time it said xxx but then the second time it said xxy, then the 3rd time it said xyz". One time he replied "do you know how crazy you sound right now?" LOL! Usually he just said "I don't know why you insist on stepping on it again when you liked what it said the first time". I still have to though!

I have plans for my scale...when I hit goal, I'm going to pack it up and ship it to the Mythbusters so they'll have something to blow up.

Scales are absolutely ridiculousss! I remember once, I weighed myself, did some jogging and jumping jacks right next to the scale, weighed again and I gained. I was thinking "wth?! I didn't intake anything, and nothing came out...why go up? -_____-"
Gotta kick this weighing obsession.

hahahaha. ive had this exact conversation with my boyfriend as he's wide eyed and slowly backing away from me.
i know this is a different thing, BUT, i just learned something sooooo irritating about my scale. its a WW scale.. so youd assume its for people losing weight.. but it has a *memory*. so if you're 199 one day, and the next day you're 198.5, it doesnt change. theres like a 2 or 3 lb buffer. after MANY frustrations, i figured out that i have to get someone else to use the scale to *reset* it before i weigh. why would they do that to me? i almost stabbed that thing 1000 times, id weigh with and without clothes on and get the same weight to the 0.1 of an lb. its the worst.
