Default Thoughtful Thursday

What is your weight loss goal and how are you planning to celebrate when you reach it?

I really don't have a final goal yet because it is just too overwhelming for me. But I know what I am going to do to celebrate getting there! Maybe that's odd, but I have wanted an emerald ring since I was a child ......... a long time. So whenever I have reached whatever that final weight is, I am going to get a ring.

My final goal is safely within the 150's. I need to celebrate even the small goals with non-food related things (new lip gloss, movie date, etc) since all of the "celebrations" in my life have always revolved around food. Some good that did me!

I would love to take a vacation to FL to visit my brother, and actually wear shorts, and a bathing suit at the beach, without feeling so self-conscious.

My family is planning a trip the Gallapagos next spring. I am not sure I will reach my goal by then but will be close. I started this as a way to get fit and now want to loose this weight. I think I will have to buy new cloths.

My goal is 135. I came to that goal after I joined Weight Watchers back in 2006. They told me that for my height I should weigh between 150 and 120. I picked 135 because it was right in the middle of normal for my height. Although I didn't stick with Weight Watchers, I kept that as a goal weight in my mind.

What will I do when I reach goal? You mean besides burst into tears of elation on the scale? I'll clean everything out of my closet and go buy new, pretty clothes! And I'll feel good about myself and my health!

Speaking of my health, after a trip to the ER today (unplanned...I'm fine, it was just vertigo) I found out that my blood pressure is definitely getting better! It used to run 145/100 on a regular basis. Today it was 135/87 at the ER. I was really happy about that!

My official goal is 200 lbs. My unofficial goal is somewhere in the 180s or possibly beyond. I picked 200 because I liked the way it sounds but now that I'm actually losing the weight I think that number might change.

I never really thought about how I would celebrate. Knowing myself-a shopping spree will be involved for sure! A trip somewhere exotic might be nice though...

I lost a stone out of a diamond ring several years ago. When I get to 160, I'm going to purchase a replacement stone, have the ring sized to fit my new "slimmer finger" and flash that rock all over town! I've missed wearing it, but couldn't justify the investment. I think it will be a great symbol to mark one of my biggest accomplishments.

Oh, and I picked 160, because it's the weight I was in Junior High, when, for the first time, someone (unrelated) chose to "counsel" me about my weight problem. I remember a PE coach pulling me aside to sit on the bleachers as she prompted me to begin a weight loss program. "Don't you ever want to wear a bikini?" Sheesh... It was uncomfortable, and I never forgot it. I was just under 200 when I graduated high school, and 160 seems swell to me!

I am not sure what I will do when I reach the final goal because it seems so far away. I am planning however at each 10% goal to buy myself a pretty piece of jewelry or start a charm bracelet with a charm for each goal. Just thinking. I would love to be able to shop at Banana Republic one day.

I have three goals, 199 (oh so close!), 169.5 (my normal, reasonable goal) and 149.5 (my dream goal). I'm saving up for my reward and I will reward it to myself anytime after I hit 199 as soon as I have saved up for it.

My reward - a 2012 Mustang GT convertible - RED! Because that's what a hot blonde over 40 deserves if she wants it!

My goal is 140 because that is around what I weighed when I got married. I haven't yet decided how I will celebrate when I reach goal. I will have a new wardrobe obviously , but beyond that I haven't a clue. A lot will depend on finances and how far along I am in nursing school. Maybe I will go visit friends and family in Las Vegas!

My goal is a little vague right now- it's 140-160 because I think I should be able to maintain something around there, but I'll have to get much closer to that weight to be able to evaluate it properly. Who knows, maybe it will be higher (I'm only 5'3 but a comfortable weight for me has always been at least a little overweight.)

As for celebrating- I know I'm going to be excited to have a new "final" wardrobe. I really like the idea of doing something else to celebrate, though. Well, I have a lot of time to decide on what it will be!!

Like DCHound, I have many incremental goals. I have been rewarding myself with smaller things like books & music so far; and since I met my 100 lb goal, I am getting a new digital camera soon (a good one, I mean; that's my reward).

I have some smaller goals to reach first, but my next major goal is to hit onederland too; then 177 lbs. My ultimate dream goal would be to reach 137 lbs again, but we'll see. I was 177 lbs in college (the second time), and at that weight, I felt good -- I could walk well and do whatever I wanted to do and do it comfortably.

I haven't thought about future rewards much; just getting there is a big prize in itself to me, but lately I have been thinking about getting some fancy new linens for my bedroom, and a new wardrobe too.

Well I've only just joined and just started my work. You're ALL an inspiration to me. Truly. To read about your successes and your dreams makes me kinda think that I'm allowed to take the time for myself, work hard and just see what comes next. Well done ladies!

One reason I decided to get healthy and lose weight is a big trip we have planned for 2013. My parents are taking my daughter and myself on a trip to the Gallapagos and possibly Peru. I want to be thinner to fit in those airline seats. I want to be in shape to walk as much as I need. So my reward is the trip. I probably won't be at my goal by April but I will be well on my way.

After that when I do reach my goal. I will need new cloths . Maybe a Tatoo. I have been wanting on for several years and maybe this will be the reason to get mine.
