Finally it's Saturday and the end of an incredibly long and busy week. I am off to the Fair Office shortly with my big beef stew and then will be home for a wee bit before Jazz and I do a pet therapy session at the nursing home. This will be the last visit until September as August is my HOLIDAY month!
This afternoon, during the Fair Parade, we will be serving ice cream sundaes at the Town Hall. I hope that will wind up by 4 when I can come home to do laundry and pack because tomorrow I go on vacation.
Ahhhh, I am SO jealous Ruth, do you think I could fit in your suitcase?!? Safe travels, and hope we get to hear lots of commentary on your time off.
Surgery went well on the pup, and we were both exhausted last night. Now, I just hope it buys her some quality time. Today I have to work (AGAIN?!? Seriously?!), which is packed. I'm not sure what after that, I'm hoping to not do a whole lot.
Guess I should get supper in the crock pot and get moving....gotta get moving....
Ruth: Sounds like a busy day. Enjoy your holiday.
Twynn: Can you put dinner up for me too?
This morning is our monthly breakfast at the apartment complex. I'm a bit afraid of going as there will be nothing on plan except the coffee. It's not something I want to skip as I enjoy the social. I will be eating my breakfast just before I go.
Good morning Beachy friends I slept in until 6:30 (went to bed at midnight but that's another story). I'm looking forward to visiting my parents, I always reset my sleep patterns when I'm there.
Ruth - A whole month of vacation is perfect! I know you will enjoy every moment.
Twynn - hoping that you and Reese get lots more special time together. What's going into the crockpot today? I'm inventing a black bean, quinoa thing for tomorrow's dinner.
MoonChild- I love your name. I have a shoulder tattoo - a moon with a woman's symbol hanging off the bottom point
Very smart planning for your morning. It's so much easier to go to those things already fed.
Just one job today and only 3 hours! I'm off to catch-up with a friend I haven't seen for a few weeks, a visit to the serious Farmer's Market (lots of small local ones but this is an amazing market), then home to work. I have so much to get done around here! My vacation week starts next Friday afternoon. We have a girls' camping weekend planned (no cooking, bring your favorite beverage, camp fires and relaxing) then I have one day at home before I head to NY to spend a few days with my parents. I'm sure there will be the usual thrift store shopping and other adventures. I am so glad my mother has taken time to figure out my food choices and really respects them. I often am able to get really focused when I am there because she doesn't keep of plan foods I'm interested in around the house!
Time to get moving on the chore list before heading out.
Ruth - enjoy the fair parade
Twynn - glad surgery went well on the puppy!
Moonshild - good plan!
Cyndi - I hope you can relax in all the busy!
Today I am hitting the gym and cooking up a storm. The Olympics is motivating a lot of people in the neighborhood! DW even went out for a 12 mi bike ride this morning...
Hopefully we'll get some sun tomorrow so I can spend some time at the pool after the gym
Mom and I traveled back over the hill very early this morning and I headed right to work. I'm going to turn on the olympics a and see how the rest of the evening pans out.
Good evening and greetings from Blue Ridge, VA. enjoying quality time with my family. Tomorrow we are off to Kentucky. Tomorrow will be a P1 day, oh boy did I eat poorly today!
Jenne, I hope you finally drifted off and are sleeping soundly right now!
I'm up way too early this morning, but I woke at 4am, wide awake with anticipation of today. I have a load of laundry to do, then finish packing and loading up the car before I head off to the hotel at the airport to wait for Ruth's plane to arrive. We'll spend tonight at the hotel, then tomorrow my DD and granddaughter will join us and we'll be off for a blissful week of sun, fun, and relaxation at the shore.
Good morning. I guess it's time to pack my suitcase, freeze the smelly garbage and gear up (or is it down?) for the Beach.
Busy day again yesterday with Fair stuff, pet therapy and the ice cream extravaganza at the Mill followed by supper with some friends at the Fair! (I confess that I had some ribs but turned down fries. The only veggie option at the whole Fair is cole slaw or sauerkraut! I went for the kraut because the slaw is full of sugar. I confess that I also had a beer - the first since last summer - but it just seemed right.)
So - last minute stuff - like packing - and then off to Ottawa, dropping the pooches at 4PawsInn on the way. I am so glad they love it there so I need not feel guilty. I'm really looking forward to the next week of complete relaxation and expect to come back all bright eyed and bushy tailed, whatever that means. (Actually it refers to a healthy fox so maybe I'll be foxy! )
Have a great week and try to stay OP - I have a sneaking feeling I'll be off but will try to keep it in check.
Cottage & Ruth - I know you two will have a wonderful week at the shore. Spot some interesting birds for me please Will be thinking of you both enjoying the sun, surf, and seafood.
Off to work the video store shift. It will be the last one for two weeks now that I'm gearing back. I'm counting down to the weekend and girls camping trip, but first the work week.
Cyndi, I'll try to remember to take pictures of any interesting birds to send to you if I can figure out how to get them on FB.
Ruth, I like to think that Disney and Jazz are looking forward to spending a week at the pooch resort making new friends and having a grand time. Have a safe drive up to Ottawa, and see you soon!
