Default The Scoop on P**p???

Today is the end of my 2 weeks on Induction! Moving to OWL tomorrow, but still going to stay at 20 net carbs for a bit. Anyway, the first 11 days I lost 11.2 pounds, but nothing since Day 11. I have not been able to use the bathroom, but once and it was barely mentionable! Could this be the reason the scale hasn't moved in several days? I have been strictly on plan and my calories have been 1200-1300.

This could be part of the issue. Perhaps try to increase water...the only thing that has worked for me, long term, is a probiotic. You must be feeling uncomfortable, so sorry!

Good luck!

Are you getting enough fiber and are you drinking enough water with that fiber?

Would you mind posting a typical day's menu?

I take a teaspoon or so of magnesium citrate stirred into water or tea every evening; it's really made a difference for me. "Natural Calm" made by Natural Vitality.

Dr. A. mentions a TBL of psyllium <sp> husks mixed with water. I find this to help. I had the same problem even though I was eating tons of fiberous veggies and drinking lots of water. It is a big change to what our system is used to. Plus if you eat cheese that is very binding.

Without knowing what your typical diet is, it's hard to tell.

My go-to's are a cup of black coffee and a spoonful of coconut oil. Gets things movin' every time .

I LOVE cheese, but it's also a culprit in water retention. I have the best losses when I limit cheese to no more than two ounces a day. It's hard because if I don't pay attention, I eat more than the four ounces we're allowed. If you're stalled or just feel "fat," try lowering the amount of cheese in your menus. It may "unstick" you in more ways than one!

You can also try making flax "muffins", they give a great punch of fiber.

Well, I was finally down another 2 pounds this morning, for a total of 13.2, but I still haven't used the bathroom!

My typical day is:

b= 3 fried eggs
2 slices bacon

l= 1 small zucchini
1 small yellow squash
1/2 cup yellow onino
(i bake them with 1 tblspn evoo brushed on along with some seasonings)

d= chicken or hamburger meat
mushrooms

s=Atkins shake or bar

Other days for lunch I have had a salad with tomato, red onion, avacado and dressing. Or I have had a couple of red bell peppers with ranch or blue cheese. I've made chicken salad mix with onion, celery and avacado - I eat it with Romaine lettuce.

With the exception of the Atkins shakes & bars.....your menu looks good. Plenty of veggies & salad
Not sure how much water you're drinking but, be sure to drink lots. If things don't get moving, there are lots of great suggestions here. I think I'd start with the Flax "muffins" Tiff suggested.
Hope you're feeling better soon!
All the best to you!

Well, I drank a cup of coffee with heavy whipping cream and a splenda and finally went!

Kim, what is your opinion on the shakes and bars?

Mary, I know Atkins Nutritionals markets those products to be appropriate for all phases of Atkins....sadly that is untrue.....especially for anyone doing Induction. They contain ingredients like soy, milk & peanuts which are not on the acceptable foods list.
For a better understanding, you may want to read this. Its an eye-opener.

WOW! That REALLY IS eye opening! I guess it's better to just eat as clean as possible and avoid processed foods because you really cant trust that label.
